So we have pretty much decided on a name for our little girl but I am an indecisive person and I cannot commit. The name is Priscilla Helen (Helen after DH's dear Aunt who passed away a few years ago). I'm nervous to post here but would like to hear what you ladies think. Thanks in advance!
Re: Nervous but here goes nothing-Girl name opinion
I like it. But then, I really like a lot of 17th-century names (like Dorcas), so I may not be representative.
I do urge you to avoid the nn Prissy, though.

I do think you might want to consider that she may be teased and called prissy...
This.

I like this as the nn.
My two girls Flower and Ayla Faye
I LOVE Priscilla.......very feminine and not too popular!
I thought the exact same thing! I have no idea why but that's what initially came to mind.
+1. I'm not a huge fan of Priscilla. All I can think is Elvis' wife.

Agreed.
this. also I like Cilla as a nn.
This!
This exactly!
Well here I am! I woman named Priscilla who likes her name! I understand that everyone has their own opinions but I think this is a bit harsh of a generalization.
OP, I already shared my experiences with you on the May board and I don't want to highjack your thread, but I couldn't help replying to this comment.
Agree.
This. It's an okay choice, I just think she'll be teased as "Prissy"

Priscilla is lovely! It's not one I'd use personally, but I'm excited to see someone else consider it. My two main associations are both very positive -- the biblical woman who helped the apostle Paul, and the female love interest in "Johnny Tremain." The latter went by Cilla as a nickname, which I think makes the name even lovelier.
And I absolutely adore Helen. It's one I'm surprised more people aren't considering.
You've come up with a stunning combination: two seldom-used classics that people are familiar enough with to know how to spell and pronounce. How can it get any better?
It's not on my radar for girl's names, but like PP said, it's a nice name, spelled correctly and not made up.
FWIW, I didn't even consider "Prissy" as a NN. My first thought was the pop culture reference to Elvis's wife.
We can't wait to meet our Blake Katherine!!
I actually don't like either name. And for the nn, would it be See-la or Sil-a?
