Convertible for infant, small car edition

My husband and I have decided to skip the infant seat and go straight to a convertible. The only problem is we have a Toyota Corolla and I'm not sure which convertible seats will fit when they are reclined for an infant. I have found lots of info about which convertible seats will fit a Corolla, but not much about when they're in infant mode. Has anyone done this and does anyone have specific recommendations? I'm looking at the Combi Cocorro, the Recaro Pro-Ride, the Maxi Cosi Pria, and the Britax Marathon, but am happy to learn about others!

The only close baby store where we could try things out in person is a BRU about 45 minutes away, and they don't have most of the seats I'm interested in.

  • You might try thr first years true fit. I believe you can remove the top prt of the headrest for a while make it more compact for rfing. Or I would say the combi.

  • I love love love the Combi Coccoro. We have one in a Honda Fit and one in a Mini Cooper, both rear facing. We rented a Corolla on vacation and it fit great behind the passenger seat. Left lots of space for the front passenger and installed really easily with latch.
The only negative is that you won't be able to extended rear face since it maxes out at 36"/33lbs RF. Based on her growth curve, my DD will probably outgrow it RF between 24 and 30 months.

The Pria is a big seat. It supposedly fits newborns well, but it's big and heavy. It has a max RF limit of 40".
