How many days before ER did DH %&$#@*?

since i'm not sure what the appropriate thing to call it is, i will leave it up to your prefrences. I ask bc im wondering if they are letting DH go too long. My cycle was delayed a little. I was projected to have ER on Sun, so his last day to ____ was thursday. Now i'm on hold, and ER might be tuesday. Won't his "stuff" be old by then? I asked nurse and she said it would be fine, but i cant help but be a lil suspicious. I dont want to have gone through everything i have, to get to ER and have shotty sperm. Anyone mind sharing how many days before ER their DHs were instucted to "do their thing"? TIA!!

Me 33 DH 33 Together since 2002 TTC since Oct 2010 RE March 2012 HSG left tube blocked with fluid July Lap done, removed left tube and right tube damaged Break until we can fund IVF Mock Transfer and Consent Signing appt 11/2 Started BC 12/11, Injection class 12/18 Lupron starts 12/27, Menopur,Lupron and GonalF start 1/9, Triggered 1/20, ER 1/22 11R, 3 made it to day 5, ET 1/27 of 2 blasts, I frozen 2/7 beta #1 380, 2/11 beta #2 ? DD born 10/18/2013 

FET 9/2015-BFN no embryos left........trying on own until I discovered my only tube was blocked
IVF#2- started stims 6/12 ER 6/22 16 ER 11 mature 8 fertilized ET 6/27 2 day 5 embryos AB and BB put in. 1 frozen BC. Beta #1-175 Beta #2- 422.  Beta #3- 1,024. US-7/29

    We've been told he needs to abstain for 2-5 days, but since we're MFI, my DH normally abstains for about 3-4 days. He's going 3.5 days for our ER on Monday morning. 

    At this point, the earliest you can have your ER is Monday, so I would have him "have fun" tonight. That way you'd be good for a Monday or Tuesday ER. GL!

    We were also told 2-5 days but found 3-4 to give the best sample. I'd have him take care of business tonight just to be on the safe side

    Mine said no longer than 5 days and no shorter than 3. So the last time was on Mon night and retrieval was Friday morning.

    I think between 3-5.  Once I triggered, he was told no more.  Granted, I dont really ask him to tell me every time he takes care of business. lol

    Me:29 DH:29  TTC since 1/11 Dx: unexplained IF/early DOR/immune issues 
    Feb'12- July'12-testing(all clear minus slight arcuate ute), 3 IUI with clomid all BFN
    8/30IVF#1 Antagonist protocol- ER 9/11-8R, 7M, 5F. 
    ET 9/14 2 embies transferred. 1 10cell Grade 4, 1 8cell Grade 4. No frosties. BFN
    IVF#2 Antagonist protocol plus baby aspirin- ER 12/5-16R, 12M, 8F!
    ET 12/10 5dt! 1 fully expanded blast & 1 early blast. No frosties. BFN
    3/13 hysteroscopy & polypectomy, Consulted w Dr. Kwak-Kim.  
    DX: High NK cells, cytokines, DHEAs& PAI1;  hypothyroid, +APA, restricted bloodflow
    7/13 IVF#3 Long lupron protocol with PIO, Crinone, Prometrium, and vivelle
    (plus synthroid, metformin, baby asa, metanx, PNV, Vit E, D, calcium, fish oil, CoQ10, IVIg infusions and lovenox per Dr. Kwak-kim)
    ER 7/19 14R, 11M, 9F(4 natural fert, 5 with ICSI)
    ET 5dt 7/24 2 fully expanded blasts.  SURPRISE 3 FROSTIES!!!
    Beta #1 8/2 335!!!! Beta #2 829!!!  1st u/s 8/14 showed TWINS!!!!!

    We were told every 2-3 days is ideal. I had MH do it this morning, because I am most likely going to have ER on Tuesday. If YH takes care of business today, he should be good to go for a Tuesday retrieval. 
             

            

    *****Siggy/Ticker Warning*****

     Me (34)- no issues found MH (36)- MFI due to Vericocele. Straight to IVF w/ICSI 9/12, Antagonist. 9R, 7M, 5F = BFN c/p,  New RE for IVF #2- 1/13., Long Lupron. ER on 1/22 -10R, 9M, 9F. Transfer on hold due to overstimming. FET in Feb. 2 frozen blasts. Another BFN & another c/p. RPL testing all negative besides MTHFR gene, vericocle repair surgery 4/12/13-Bilateral Grade 3 Vericocele found & fixed, IVF #3 with PGS  4/13- 11R, 9M, 9F. Transferred 2 normal=BFN, 3 normal on ice. CCRM-here we come! ODWU-All test results normal. EPP in August. 21R, 20M, 19F. 12 blasts biopsied & frozen for CCS testing. Results showed 11 normal! FET Oct. 30. 2 5d 4AA blasts transferred. First ever BFP!!! Beta 1=216, Beta 2=870 1st U/S=It's TWINS!!! It's a BOY and a GIRL!! Everyone Welcome!!!

    My RE said we MUST do the deed on trigger day to ensure a good sample on ER day.  That being said, hubby has issues and can usually only produce 1x a week if that.  We're having a back up sample frozen just incase it doesn't work out on ER day.  I'm petrified of that happening! 
    Me (37) DH (39); PCOS changed to Unexplained, changed to DOR in 2012 (finally a correct diagnosis!); 
    Started TTC 2009 with RE after 6 months.  
    Clomid + Trigger x2; 
    IUI + Femara x1,
    IUI + Follistim x2;
    IVF #1 (MDL) February 2013- BFN.
    IVF #2 (antagonist) May 2013, First BFP of my life. 
    Identical twin miracle BOYS (!!) headed our way- due date is technically 2/4/14 but c section is scheduled for 1/7!

    thanks ladies, this is what i thought. If we do ER on tues, it would be the 5th/6th day depending on how you count it, so I think i will take your advice and have DH take care of business tonight Wink. I didn't really want to go against nurses instructions, but you all validated my thought. TY!!!!

    We were told 2-5. DH was at 3 days which we have always found is best for us. 
    Me: 33, Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, DOR (AMH .35), DH: 38, Borderline low morph
    5/09- Off BCP, 5/09-9/09- No period, 9/09-9/10- Lots of Tests & accupuncture
    10/10 and 11/10- 2 rounds of Menopur + TI= BFNS
    12/10-IUI #1 Menopur = BFN
    1/11- IUI #2 Menopur = BFP, 2/11 missed mc at 9 weeks, D&C
    5/11- Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum
    6/11- IUI #3 Menopur = BFP, 8/11 missed mc at 11 weeks, D&C
    1/12- Lap and Operative Hysteroscopy to remove uterine septum (again) & scar tissue
    2/12- Stint Removal, 3/12 repeat SHG and HSG- showed scar tissue blocking right tube
    4/12- Operative hysteroscopy (again), RE said he can now see right tube (yay!)
    5/12- Stint removal, 6/12 repeat SHG and HSG-both tubes are open!
    8/12- IUI #4 Bravelle = BFN
    9/12-IUI #5 Bravelle = BFN
    1/13- IVF #1, micro-flare protocol, 7R, 6F, 5dt of 2 AA embryos, 1 to freeze = BFP
    Beta #1: 176, Beta #2: 422, EDD 10/8/13- it's TWINS!
