I have an almost 22 month old who will be 23 months when we had to the beach. Suggestions on what he should wear? I'm thinking sunglass, sunscreen, beach shoes etc.
Also suggestions on where to buy the stuff? Thanks!
I was just at Target today and they have their swimwear out. I'm in the northeast, so if we have it out in the stores here, I'm guessing it must be out other places too.
My kids are pretty fair, so they usually wear a hat / rashguard shirt when playing at the beach.
The last two years that my DD went, i would put the swim diaper on then totally spray her down with sunscrean. Put some in the palm of my hand and rub really well into her face and even in her hair. Though her bikines are really cute, the surfer board shirt and short sets were great. We had Keens the first time down and crocks the second time. Either one did fine. Didn't have to worry about the Keens in the ocean where we did take the crocks off a couple of times. We tried to put a hat on her. Sometimes it worked, sometimes not.
The place we stayed at had a 10X10 tent which was great. I would put a blanket down the shade and she'd play with her sand toys.
The bathing suites I got from Target. I'm sure you could shop online if they dont' ahve them in the stores yet. Good luck...it was so much fun (and TONS of work but worth it!)
We went to the beach a month ago and had a great time. We had her in cute bathing suits but layered on sunscreen constantly (spray was easiest) and always a hat. As far as shoes i don't like crocks because she runs everywhere so they fall off her feet, we have strite rite sandals. Have fun!
When we are out DS wears sunglasses, bucket hat, SPF rash guard short sleeve shirt, trunks and sunscreen. I def recommend some type of shoe you can leave on like a Keen water sandal. It depends on the beach but sometimes we see Man o War on the sand that wash up and I am terrified DS will step on one.
If you aren't potty trained we use an Imse Vimse reusable swim diaper.

Sorry I forgot where to buy. We have had great luck with Target for the swim gear. I get my Keen's at REI or Nordstrom.
