I ordered a delivery gown with the matching pillow case. DH was being "helpful" and opened the package for me. In the process he cut the fabric in the delivery gown. Needless to say, I was not a happy hormonal pregnant woman. I knew that I was going to order another one but we already had plans to go shopping. I bought everything for my go bag including sheets to match the delivery gown.
I ordered from Amazon originally and they only had the gown and the pillow case. I did not need a new pillow case. I went to another site and along with the gown, I found socks that say ready, set, push, on the bottom. I had to get them.
Everything else I ordered was stolen out of my mailbox so I hope that I get these without a problem.
Re: So excited about my delivery socks
The socks sound super cute!
Why are you bringing sheets to the hospital? Maybe I am just confused
.

3 reasons. One is that I have sensitive skin and I don't like sleeping on rough sheets and then having red blotches on my face. The second is that many, many people have pooped in those sheets. This was brought to my attention during my externship in nursing. Most nurses in the ICU talked about how they would bring their own sheets if they had hospital stays. I never did it before but this time I have more ability to plan. Third is just vanity. They look so much cuter in the photos. The pregnancy has been a long time coming and I doubt that I will be able to have any more children so I am going over the top with this one. I bought everything fully expecting that it will all go in the trash after it is over.
I was planning to bring my own pillow just like I did when I delivered my first baby but after reading what you wrote I may have to think about bringing my own sheets too! Ick!!
I love the socks idea too!! Too cute, I need to get some new socks for my bag as well!
Over-40 parents...what we lack in vigor, we make up for with cunning.
I might need to look for those socks as well! Any way to inject some humor into labor sounds like a good idea!

They came in the mail already and they are much better quality than I anticipated. I got them from the company but I could not find the website at work.
Hmmm...I didn't bring sheets the first time around, but I did bring my own extra pillows. They came in handy for sure. I remember bringing socks, but during a contraction, I screamed for them to be taken off!!! It was hot in there!! lol
Also remember to bring Clorox wipes for the bathroom area, since you'll probably be gripping everything around your during contractions.
The funny thing was that after my hubby and sister sanitized the room and bathroom for me, we ended up switching rooms! I was in so deep I just said to hell with the cleaning up when we switched. At that point I just wanted to get the baby out!!!!
As for the torn dress, can you call the company you ordered from? Sometimes they are so eager to keep you as a happy customer, they'll replace the item for you...just a thought!
