My son is six and a half months old. He has his bottom teeth and now his top teeth are coming through. Tylenol doesn't seem to work and Motrin barely helps. Teething rings also don't help! What can I do? He's in so much pain and is so miserable.
I would get some back knowledge on baby orajel first! There are some warnings out on its use. I know lots of ppl who swear by it and just as many who wont use it at all.
I don't feel comfortable using baby orajel because of the different warnings. I was also told by our pediatrician not to use the teething tablets because they aren't FDA approved. I tried cold teething rings, frozen washcloth, and frozen banana in the mesh feeder and he will be satisfied for 5 min, tops. I'll look into the Tylenol dosage because it used to work and now it doesn't. Thanks everyone, so sad.
DD is 8mns, teething but still toothless, lol.
A friend of mine recommends Hylands teething tablets and teething gel for breaking thru. She uses this product and is quite pleased. Her lo is breaking molars. And some odd mns older than dd... apparently she found at target.
Doctors won't recommend because it's a homeopathic method that discredits their field. So take what's out there and make up your own mind, gl!
You really need to give the teething tablets a try. They are great and they are so much more natural and safer than using Tylenol. Also, amber teething necklaces and bracelets are good. Also, I second the frozen fruit or toys! Good luck!

Yeah, because they get kick backs on Tylenol and Motrin. eyeroll If they were against anything natural and alternative none would recommend frozen teethers either, just MORE DRUGS!
nothing was helping DD either until my mother suggested rubbing a little whiskey on the affected area. I was weary but tried it for the first time the other night and it worked like a charm. I put a little bit on my finger and just rubbed it in.

If you're not willing to try the teething tablets and the orajel for whatever reason then you can't say "nothing works" cause you haven't tried everything and one of these two things in combination with something else might do the trick.
Re: Teething, I swear nothing works!
Have you tried baby orijel?

I second the mesh feeder. Frozen bananas have saved my sanity.
