    Where did everybody go?

I decided that 9:45 was late enough for DS to sleep, so I got him up. And then since he'd slept so long (and had a midnight cup of milk) his diaper had over-filled and his legs were covered in pee. (The one downfall of my generic diapers...)  So then I had to give him a bath. Now he's eating his brunch while I try to find some more houses to check out.

That's probably more detail than you wanted, eh?

I hope you get gold today!

And now that everyone is back, I have to go be productive.

    Haha! The detail works :)

    Can't wait for the bling!

    Nooooo! Don't leave!

Random facts from my roadtrip: 1. My dad likes the Backstreet Boys and wants them on his ipod when he gets home 2. I love the Tennessee beer Yazoo 3. New Mexico is flippin cold in the winter time 4. The Grand Canyon is totally worth seeing. Even if it adds two hours to your driving total that day. 5. Oklahoma looks a lot like Texas

#4 - totally agree. So awesome. Was there snow?

#5 - That's blasphemy, but at least you compared Oklahoma to Texas, and not the other way around. Are you driving on I-40?

Yes we have been on I40 headed east for days! We had snow in Arizona up by the Grand Canyon. NM was clear as good be and 19

Be glad that you weren't on I-10 - that drive is pretty miserable. From the east of California to just east of El Paso, there isn't much variation in the scenery. Flat, dirt, scrubby brush, with a few mountains. Also, I love Texas, but the 10-12ish hours it takes to drive all the way across on I-10 are extremely tedious.

Also, I can't say that I-10 east of Houston is my favorite drive either.

    Let's just say I prefer I-40 to I-10.

I only did the 10 as far as Vegas a handful of times. But you are right. Not much to see there

I'm getting bored with pregnancy-related drama in general.  I troll the boards like,

  • Rounding up, we only have, like, ten pages left.  There are, I think, 30 posts to a page.  So...

Aww, that wasn't as fortifying as I'd hoped.  I just did the math.  Shut up, Native.

We've got work to do, ladies!

Hmmm....I-10 doesn't go to Vegas. It goes down along the southern US border - you can look south and see Mexico for parts of it.

But on a driving-through-Nevada note, I think I slept through most of Nevada when we drove that way - it was pretty dull. I don't remember what highway DH took since he went some out-of-the-way route so he could drive through Utah.

I normally take a huge crochet project on road trips because DH does all of the driving and doesn't talk...and because we rarely drive through pretty parts of the country.

I'm so, so...SO bad about keeping my nails up after I've done them.  They'll be chipped for weeks.  Sometimes I'll have nails with just a flake of color still on them and not do anything about it.  It's bad.

At the risk of sounding like a jerk, I am not anxious for those days.  The end of pregnancy is not a fun time.

  • A bloody Mary with extra olives to be more specific. Or one of those ones with a whole bunch of meat and cheese on a stick stuck inside.

Or a bacon one they have those in Austin.

We are finally at 500 posts!

    Woohoo!

Okay...I really have to go do something productive now.

:( I get left all alone again.

Guilty confession: I never made it off TB. I was cheating on you with 2nd Tri, Toddlers 12-24, and June 2013...because, you know, people had burning questions about sippy cups and crib bumpers that I just HAD to answer and repeat the exact same thing that everyone else said.

Before I really go this time, I just wanted to report that DS's new favorite thing is to put a Fruit Loop on the floor (hotel carpet....gross), then bend over and eat it off of the floor.

Also, my hotel neighbors probably think I'm yelling at a dog instead of a child because I frequently yell, "DS, OUT!" or "DS, NO!" when he starts to go into the bathroom or kitchen (despite my stack of suitcases in each doorway to block him) - we're on the pet-friendly wing, and I'm sure it sounds like I'm yelling commands to a dog instead of a toddler.

At first, I thought it looked like a Dementor rising out of the phone... Yes, I'm a geek.

    And I'm really going now.

DD2 likes to find things she knows I'll ask her to give to me, and carry them to me in her mouth.  Bleh!

I'm pretty sure DD2 thinks her name is, "Mischa-NO!"

  • Time for gifs before I take a nap!

I'm cutting myself off, most days, of crud food and going over a reasonable number of calories.  I keep reminding myself that my bod will thank me for laying the foundation to take all the extra weight off of its tiny frame (I'm 5'1" and 30 lb overweight) and that good habits now will pay off after the baby comes.  But mostly this is what I feel like:

  • The skinny one on the left - his left boob.  Once I noticed, it was the only thing I could see in this gif, lol.
