Cloth Diapering

Moms of older babies/toddlers, come in...

So today and yesterday, when I changed A's diapers, the bamboo inserts I have (which are normally white) were definitely a light yellowish tint where she had wet. She's always had clear pee before, so my first thought was concern about dehydration, but the kid nurses like nonstop during the day.

Is this normal for older toddlers to start having their urine get darker... Dark enough to see on the insert? Or should I be concerned?

  • My sons gets like that sometimes, but it doesn't mean he's dehydrated. I just encourage him to try and drink a little more after I notice it.But I wouldn't concerned over it, it's normal even for adults.

  • My toddler has yellow pee.  I can see it on his prefolds sometimes. I'm not BFing anymore but I think whatever food they've eaten recently has something to do with it.  Dark green veggies maybe?

  • Buddy is PT'd but when he pees he turns the water in the toilet yellow. I don't think he's dehydrated (He drinks 2 camelbaks a day)

  • That happens with DDs overnight diapers or when she has a really wet day. Usually the yellow is on the back of my MF inserts. DD drinks milk like crazy so I'm not worried about dehydration.

  • Ok, thanks, ladies! I wasn't too concerned, but figured I would ask for some other people to weigh in and just make sure that it was normal.
