Unibrow. WWYD

Continuing with the Farrah post below what would you do if LO had a unibrow. I guess we've determined waxing/tweezing is outta the question.
Would you shave it, bleach it, laser it... Go to the doctor and ask for removal advice??? Or just let it be?!

Re: Unibrow. WWYD

  • I think it depends on how old the LO was. If we are talking a young kid, I would leave it alone. But if we were talking an older kid, and he or she was getting picked on or something and wanted to do something about it, I would probably look into the options for removal.

I agree 100. I am Italian and DH is Cuban. We are going to have some hair issues.

  • Shave.

Non painful, takes 2 seconds, and I put it in the same category as getting a haircut. Fine if the parents want to go au natural, or opt for the groomed look.

I'm with shave too. Just because they aren't getting made fun of yet directly doesn't mean ppl aren't staring and making fun behind LO's back :
I guess I'd have to be in that boat to truly know though.

I know what you mean. DH kind of has one (he shaves it) and I was so worried that DD would end up being some kind of hairy beast. I am glad she isn't, even if it is petty!

  • DD already has a unibrow at 4.5.  Thankfully that part of her eyebrows is very light so you can't see it unless you are really close.  When she asks about it, it becomes darker, or she starts getting made fun of we will start with shaving and then graduate to waxing as she gets older.  What the correct age to switch is, I'm not sure.  Its something that I have discussed with my mom (the queen of unibrows), my husband, and my stylist.  I think its one of those things that we will just know when the time is right, but definitely not this young!  My mom had her first wax at 72 so I had no clue that option was out there until my college roommate introduced me to it!  DD comes to my appointments with me and actually sits on my tummy and laughs about it so she already sees how it works.

  • Growing up, there were two little sisters in our church who had unibrows. No one ever talked about it, but they probably got a thousand compliments the day they came to church with their eyebrows waxed. They looked completely different! They were both beautiful before and after.

I kinda think I'd be the same way and let it be until she was closer to the teen years and asked about it.

  • DS has one right now. If it doesn't take care of itself, I guess once he was bothered by it I'd start with shaving it?
