Hi,
I'm fairly new here & this will be my first post;
I was just wondering what your EDD was & how close you had your baby to that day.
Thank you in advance for your responses. -I hope to be more involved with this community very soon.

both of my babies came well after my EDD!
LO1 - 41.5 (spontaneous labor began at 41.3, which is the average for first time mothers)
LO2 - 41.6 (spontaneous labor and birth on same day)
DS - I had PROM at 38 wks 2 days. Used natural induction methods and he arrived 24 hrs later.
Waiting on this one... thought it would be early and it's not looking like it.
He was due August 2nd. Had him August 1st.

Did you do anything to help the process?
I had DS right at 41 weeks.
As far as helping things along, I had my membranes stripped at my 40w appointment. It didn't work.

That's great! I am going to start using a fertility monitor this coming cycle as well as temping and opks. -I recently read something about "The lie of the EDD" and it said something about pregnancy lasting 288 days. So I'm just curious as to how true that is.

My first came 3 weeks after my EDD and my second came a week after.
The average for a FTM is something like 41 weeks and a few days.
Edit- With the first I tried everything natural under the sun and in the end she just came when she was ready. With my second I didn't do anything except have acupuncture done. I had the treatment on Thursday night and went into labor on Saturday night.

FTM here, so no prior experience to contribute here
But just wanted to share some info I heard about yesterday in my Hypnobirthing class. My teacher was saying that human gestation has been observed in the range of 265-300 days. As in, some people naturally "grow" a baby to full-term in 265 days, some in 300, and lots of people anywhere in between. You can often observe in your own family medical history that the women have a tendency to "go early" or "go late," and its related to this phenomenon. My instructor was making the point that while some women think they're "going late" because they surpass their EDD or deliver much later than friends, it might actually be a perfectly normal range of time for their own biology.

Had sex the nights before both were born. Took evening primrose oil, did breast stimulation, walking, stairs, spicy food, etc for 2 weeks with no luck before LO2.
DD's EDD was 5/11
and she arrived at 41 weeks and 2 days on 5/20
DD was born at 39w6d.
ETA: I got a prenatal massage from my doula at 39w4d--she worked on my pressure points. I started losing my mucous plug the next day. I bounced on my labor ball, continued massaging my pressure points, ran up and down the stairs, and had sex. That night I began having contractions but they were light and very far apart. I woke up the next morning at 1am and was having time-able contractions.
I went into labor at 39w2d. In the weeks prior I had been drinking red raspberry leaf tea 2x a day, took evening primrose oil capsules once a day since 37 weeks, and had sex often.
I read (maybe in the Bradley method book?) that a more accurate due date is 5 months from the day you first feel true movement. For me that was completely true - I first felt her move on February 21 and she was born on July 20.
My first came at 40 weeks 1 day.
Second at 40 weeks 3 days.
With DS1 I went into labor at 38 weeks and had him 38 weeks 1 day. But I had a hunch the whole time that he was going to be early and he measured farther along and bigger throughout the pregnancy.
If you can, ask your mom if she went early or late. I've found that if a mom has spontaneous labor that it's a good indication of what will happen with you.
DS#1 - One day before my EDD (based on LMP, not on any ultrasounds)
DS#2 - almost 3 weeks before my EDD (based on LMP, but just finished nursing DS#1, so confusing I'm sure)
DS#3 - 10-days later than EDD (based on 12wk ultrasound), 3 days early from EDD based on LMP

I was born 3 months early, so I'm not sure if that counts.
-Maybe I can ask about my siblings though, although they are 12 & 11 years older than me..

First let me say ? an EDD is just simply that an ?ESTIMATED? Due Date of when you can expect him/her to be born! Only about 1% actually gets born on that their due dates. As for most ?first time moms? they are usually born after the EDD which leads to those being considered - late!
All this is based on having a 28-day cycle - the first day of your LMP - ideally which is not always the case!
I used none of these so-called quick fixes to speed up the natural birth processes of nature ? as many have already said none of those seem to work! So why even mess with the natural order of little one?s birth! Just sit back; enjoy its many hurdles, phenomenon?s as you travel this road!
I did however have medical/medication intervention with that birth in that I was given an epidural at approximately 7cm/90% effaced (for pain); as well as the episiotomy (per doctor?s orders) being performed for whatever reason! I never really found out or knew why that - my actual labor pains began naturally at 37 weeks exactly from our wedding night ? I spent the first 28 hours laboring at home; when my water broke - we headed to the hospital! I was being checked-in through triage - L&D where approximately 8 hours later we had our first - a son.
My second, third, and fourth all sons were born at 38 weeks exactly; his EDD; at 38 weeks/1day respectively - were all completely spontaneous, natural births with no medical or medication of any kind being given! With this my fifth also expecting another son I hope and pray for a repeat of the last three. At present his due date is May 14th. We'll see - I do know he'll come when it's his time and not before!
DS1- 40w,4d (known dating from IUI+trigger)
DS2- 39,6d (estimated dating)
