Hi everyone! Long time, no talk:)
Layla is one today...yay!!! I can't believe it.
I have mentioned before that I wanted to have 2 close together, especially being that I am an older mom...40 now. We started trying again in August. In December, we took an amazing 2 week trip to Anguilla with the baby. She LOVED it and travelled so well. It looks like vacation was the charm because right before Christmas I discovered I was pregnant again!
We waited to set our dr appt for yesterday so I would be far enough along to do a quickie ultrasound and be able to see the heartbeat. After my miscarriage two years ago, I am fearful of a problem. The doctor did a quick vaginal ultrasound at my appointment. While I was trying to figure out what was on the screen, I heard a commotion between my husband and the doctor and nurse and the word TWINS!
I am in such a state of shock right now. It never even crossed my mind that I would be having twins, especially with a one year old!! I will have 3 under 2 and I am so happy and so scared at the same time. I know the first 2 years will be really hard but I know I will be ok. Mostly I am petrified of pregnancy complications. I have already been set up with a high risk doctor due to the ultiples and my age and I will have frequent visits.
I couldn't sleep last night with all the thoughts running through my head...do I need a new car to fit 3 carseats (I really, really love my car)? Why are there only 2 triplet strollers on the market? Will I ever sleep again? Will my babies make it...will they be healthy?
I'm freaking out. But very happy too:) My life is definitely changing big time now. One has been relatively easy. Three will not be.
P.S. Anyone that knows me on FB...please don't say anything. I haven't announced it yet:)

As far as carseats, the Diono Radian will fit 3 across in many regular cars. We have one for DD and love it!

You are beyond blessed! I hope and pray that everything is normal, with a healthy and happy pregnancy for you.
You are right, that three under 2 will not be easy. But you can do it. I think you've already got the right mindset. You seem ready to tackle it, and get everything figured out already
Not sure if you feel the same, but I think that everything happens for a reason. Stay in touch & keep us updated!
