Baby Jogger Mini City GT + Britax B-Safe

Hi, I am getting a Baby Jogger Mini City GT and trying to decide which car seat to get. One thing I do not like about the GT is that the car sear adapter seems very big and a pain to put in and out with all the aluminum rods and stuff.
I was checking the baby jogger website and it seems that for the Britax B-Safe car sear they have an special adapter that consist only in two pieces that you connect on both sides of the stroller (very much like the adapter of the B-Agile stroller).
Does anyone have used this?

Thanks,

Re: Baby Jogger Mini City GT + Britax B-Safe

  • I was told at BBB that the Britax infant carrier would only work on the Britax and BOB strollers, so I went with a Chicco infant seat instead with the City Mini GT stroller.

  • I have the CM GT and we had an Britax Chaperone car seat.  We were able to use an adaptor (I'm not sure what one but it was specifically labeled to say it would work with our car seat). I got it from my brother/sil who used it on their Baby Jogger City Elite.  It looks like a pain, but it snaps in pretty easily.  Basically, two "bars" click into holes on the strolle.  It might be the one you're looking at, or maybe it's the one you think looks bulky with the aluminum rods.  If you include a clicky to it/them, I can let you know for sure.

I will say this, though - while it worked, I feel like it made the stroller bulky and top heavy.  Not unsafe, per se, but once we started using the stroller without it, it felt so much easier to maneuver. If I had to do it all over again, I would have bought a Snap N Go to use with our infant carrier.  (Still buying the GT also because I LOVE it!)

This is what I was told at the store, and the "universal adapter" for the City Mini GT doesn't list the B-Safe as a compatible model.  SO we also switched to teh Chicco KeyFit.

  • Thanks for your reply...the one that I saw was this: https://www.mystrollers.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=BJ90122 , take a look at the picture and it seems that has no bars....just the adapters on both sides.

    thanks!

The one for "multi models" looks closer to what we used (we probably had an older version of that style). It says the "Chaperone" does not "click" into it but the one we had felt like it clicked. I'm not sure that's much help to you! I will say, though, that I would want something that I knew was securely attached to the stroller - i.e., clicked or that you could feel snap into the adaptaor. I also think the strap that goes across the car seat (in the multi model picture) is key. I would not have felt comfortable using the adaptor without it.

  • We have a Chicco Keyfit 30 that we used when DS was little with our BJCM. I didn't love it with the adapter but I will use it again with this one. I didn't want to store a snap go, either. It was fine and I think it was safe but it is a bit topheavy with the car seat in it. It is just something to keep in mind. I don't think it really matters which seat you buy, either. I liked our Chicco because it could be used without the base which was really handy in several situations.
