I've always been lucky to have an adventurous eater. Asparagus, avocado and quinoa have always been her favorites and she's always turned her nose up at starchy things but it looks like I officially have a picky toddler on my hands.
So, instead of the usual post about more creative things I can feed DD, I'm looking for simple foods that are healthy, balanced and will taste good. I can't give her peas, bananas and plain baked chicken another night.
Any ideas?
Re: It was bound to happen
I just linked two recipes down on amyc's post that are huge hits in my house. Are you following me on Pinterest? I've got a board for kid food there with some ideas...
Sorry to post and run, C is crying in his crib! My day is about to start.
Abby likes hummus, I forgot to mention that! I haven't even thought about cucumber.
Miss you JG!
My DD has changed, too. One thing I've discovered is that she'll eat things if I present them to her in a different way. She used to love bananas and then boycotted them until I gave her unpeeled coins for her to peel and now she'll eat them again.
My DD has surprised us by liking spicy food so don't shy away from big flavors! We just feed her what we eat and hope some of it gets through.
Thanks, everyone. She seems to like elements of food but not meals. So last night, even though she enjoyed chicken and mangoes, she rejected them when I put them in a whole wheat quesadilla. (Her loss, I'm having them for lunch today - yum!)
She used to love hummus. I'll try that again. I also totally forgot about eggs. There are a lot of things I can do there that are a good start.
Off to check the other food post from today.
