I'm East Indian, hubbs is an Irish mix. I can't for the life of me even imagine what our little boy will look like! My only thought is Nigel Barker since he is indian/white mixed... hey a girl can dream right?! I'm almost certain that my features will be dominant since I have tan skin, brown eyes, and dark hair... but it would be SO very cool if baby somehow got my man's beautiful blue eyes or even green! Already joking that he's going to be a panty dropper... haha! Gross, sorry. Anyway... was wondering if there are any other mama's who will be having a mixed race bambino out there. Also, how do you plan on raising your kid? Languages/customs, etc? My friends joke that I'm a white girl in brown skin, although I was raised with a lot of the culture, food, and lanugage and I want my baby to know where he comes from and to have a small taste of it! I'd post a pic of my husband and I, but upon looking up how to do it... its just too much work! Ugh! Can't wait till June to meet my little hybrid guy

Re: Mixed race baby... anyone else?
My DH's mom is Aztec Indian and his dad is Irish. They have four kids, the first is my DH, he looks more Irish, until its summer and he gets a tan within 10 mins, then the Aztec Indian comes out in him! He also has red in his beard and is short lol The second has all of the AI and like zero Irish. Super dark hair, super dark eyes. The third all Irish, white as can be, can't tan for the life of her, bright blue eyes, super blonde hair (reddish undertones). Then the last is all the same as the second, all AI, dark hair, dark eyes.
So....it'll be fun guessing =D
But it is all a guessing game with genetics.
DH and I are both white but I am interested to see what our LO looks like - he is blonde with blue eyes and fair skin. The blue eyes run in his family for generations, as does blonde and red hair.
I have dark brown hair and brown eyes - the color of my eyes runs in MY family for generations. I also have olive skin. So I'm thinking our baby will have one brown eye and one blue eye...?
My SIL (DH's sister) married an Italian man and her 3 kids have red and blond hair and blue eyes... so we'll just have to see. I mean, if you can defeat an Italian, those are some serious genes.
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
Wow, thats really interesting! I just have to wait it out and see!
Haha! Well I bet she will be beautiful! Most mixed babies are!
Wow, defeated the Italian traits huh? Thats pretty amazing! I actually dated a guy with one blue and one green eye!
I am of French/Italian descent, with dark hair, hazel eyes and olive skin, our donor is from El Salvidor with beautiful caramel colored skin, black hair and dark brown eyes. I am dying to see what our combination looks like too
Congrats on your baby, I'm sure she'll be gorgeous

My kids are 1/4 Filipino and 3/4 mixed European descent... DH is dark and tans, dark hair and eyes and I'm pasty and burn, freckles, hazel eyes, and brown hair.
DD has mocha colored skin, tans, with dark hair and dark eyes.
DS has pasty skin, tans, with light brown hair, and hazel eyes.
It's a crapshoot!
We lost our first (EDD 07/23/12) after finding out at 12 weeks there was no longer a heartbeat. Our rainbow was born 05/22/13 and was worth all we went through.
“So can you understand? Why I want a daughter while I’m still young? I wanna hold her hand and show her some beauty before all this damage is done. But if it’s too much to ask, it’s too much to ask … Then send me a son.” – Arcade Fire
My friend is black (medium brown) and the donor sperm she and her wife used was from a Persian guy. Her baby looks very Persian and not very black (skin and hair wise), but with my friend's facial features, esp. her eyes. I think its a toss up. DH and I are both light skinned black people, so I don't think there will be too much of a surprise on how dark/light our boys will turn out.
However, I am firm believer in the old wive's tale that your baby will come out looking like the person you thought about the most (or got on your nerves the most) while you were pregnant. If that is the case, my kids are going to come out looking exactly like my little brother (he's been driving me crazy!).
Good thing I had no liquid in my mouth when I read "panty dropper" LOL!!! My monitor would have been soaked.
My DD are 1/2 Italian and 1/2 Filipina. I think they are stunners but I am so biased and IMHO all "halfers" are beautiful!! My DH has like the teeniest bit of Portuguese so I always hope for light eyes but my DD#1 has milk chocolate eyes and DD#2 are so dark they appear black.
My DH and I are both Catholic and both come from a strong farming background so a lot of our traditions are the same. He is first generation and speaks fluent Ilocano so he is teaching our girls another language. My oldest already understands most of the conversations her Lola has when speaking it. I am second generation Italian and unfortunately the language was not passed down to me but we still have lots of traditions and foods that I share with my girls.
Can't wait to see pictures of your LO in June!!
JM
It will be a cool surprise when you see your perfect little baby in June.
H and I are both brown hair but I have brown eyes and he has hazial (sorry on the spelling) that for the most part stay brown. We were both born with blond hair that change quickly with me but not so with H. Every boy on my side has blue eyes and blond hair. I wonder if our little boy going to look so different from us to start with then change to look like us.
Anyways I am second generation to be born in US on my mother side. She is 100% Polish and I am 75% Polish and 25% mut. My Grandmother move back to Poland and visit every few years. So I am planning to each my LO Polish and tradition from that. One we do is use Polish names for aunt, uncle, and grandparents. We also going to con. H southern traditions as well.
This story started at band camp on Sept. 6, 2002, when to people meet. Married on Nov. 14, 2009.
My husband is Middle-Eastern and I am extremely German. I can't wait to see what our little mocha baby will look like!
It's tough with the cultural stuff. I think we'll try to celebrate as much of both cultures as we can!
Good luck!
My son from a previous relationship is lily-white with red hair and hazel eyes. He looks like me despite his dad being very dark (Romanian).
My husband is half French, half Chinese. You'd never know to look at him that there is any Asian blood in his veins. He and one of his sisters have curly light brown hair and blue eyes from their dad, but his other 3 siblings have straight black hair and dark brown eyes from their mom. Their dad has red hair and blue eyes, their mom has black hair and black eyes. They made 5 gorgeous kids. I'm 100% Irish, with dark blond hair, green eyes, and freckles. I'll be interested to see what our kids look like. I'm guessing we'll have little gingers. My brother and all of my cousins are Irish redheads, and my father-in-law comes from a whole family of redheaded Frenchies. I know we can't make any brown-eyed babies, but I'm thinking DH's blue eyes will be more dominant than my green eyes. It'll be exciting to see how they turn out.
Natural miscarriage @ 8 weeks - 3/8/2005
Big Brother "Skippy" born - 2/28/2007
Missed miscarriage - (EDD 3/5/2013) - D&E @ 11 weeks - 8/8/2012
"Hen" (EDD 6/7/2013) - born sleeping @ 19 weeks - 1/15/2013
"G-Unit" born - 4/14/2014 and he's 100% perfection!!
I used to know a girl with different colored eyes. It would certainly make our baby unique... like he'll need any help with that. Between my frizzy hair and bad vision and a lack of social skills for my DH and I this kid will be lucky to not be the most unique on the playground.
I'm not new. I just hate The Bump.
OMG! Your baby will be so handsome!!!
My husband is half Indian (his father is from Calcutta) and half white. I am the whitest, white girl you have ever seen, LOL. When I was pregnant with my daughter we spent so much time wondering what in the world she would like! So she is only 25% Indian and 75% white, but it my opionion she is gorgeous (spoken from her mother of course)! But in all seriousness she looks just like her daddy, darkish skin (she tans even with sunscreen), dark eyes, and brown hair, but she has some of my blonde highlights.
I think the mixed race babies are so cute! I can't wait to see how this one comes out :-)
I second the Yummy comment about Nigel Barker! Sounds like your LO will be good looking, but then again, won't all our June babies!!
I'm very American, with all my roots from Northern Europe many generations ago. DH is Turkish. His skin isn't very dark, until summer, but he has darker features than I do. His dad was a blonde Turk and his mom is pretty dark skinned and featured. I too am dreaming of a dark haired, medium skinned babe with bright blue eyes like me. Who knows! We are good friends with two other Turkish/American couples and their beautiful babies both light skinned with curly blonde hair and light eyes. I think genetics is so fascinating!
My two girls Flower and Ayla Faye
Our 23 month has bright blue eyes and dry light brown hair and very light complected. He totally got all of my dad's genes with the blue eyes and super light hair. I don't know what this next child will look like. Maybe he will get some Mexican genes and come out darker with dark features. I definitely can't wait to see!
Your daughter sounds beautiful! I wish it were easier to post or share photos on this stupid thing!
Your girls are so beautiful! Looks like they have the best features of each race! My DH was raised Catholic, but believes in more Christain views, which is what I am. This is how our child will be raised. I certainly want our kid to know a few Tamil words (heck, I can barely say a whole sentence... although I can understand it fluently!). I also want him to be accustomed to the spicy Indian food because there is no avoiding it with my family, and DH and I love it! Thanks for sharing!
My DH is Iraqi and my family is German/possibly French (blonde hair and fair skinned) so we have a similar background. Our DD was dark complected and had tons of black hair when she was born - she looked just like Daddy! Now her skin is lighter but I'm sure she'll tan easily. Her hair is brown and almost looks blonde in the sunlight at times! I'm excited to see how our next baby looks!
Cultural differences can be tricky at times. DH says that he'll teach her Arabic but he doesn't have much time. I'd love for our kids to know Arabic! I'm trying to remind him to read her Arabic books and talk to her more.
Our lil' diva: late like her Momma: 40 weeks 5 days!
