And not my MIL or anyone who tries to tell me I need to do things with B differently! My MIL and several other people have been pushing me to give DS cereal in his bottle since he was 2 months old and I refused. It made them all mad but it was my choice. I talked to the pediatrician today and he agreed B doesn't need it. He is gaining weight just fine on formula and STTN so there is no need. He is almost 15lbs and 26 & 1/4 inches long, 95% for height & 75% for weight, so he's doing perfectly fine w/o it. We also talked about introducing other solids and he said it was my call but really we don't even need to start talking about it until 6 months. I really want to try BLW combined with some homemade puree baby food so I don't really plan on introducing it until he can sit pretty steadily unsupported and shows an interest on his own. Even though my MIL hates the idea the Pediatrician says it's fine and I'm sticking to my guns.

Anyone else dealing with this kind of family/friend drama? I feel like so many people feel like it's ok to tell me how to raise MY baby!

Good for you! She had her chance to raise her child, now it's your turn. I don't have that type of drama (thank goodness!). The closest thing was the hostess at Macaroni Grill deciding we needed advice on how to teach E to sit up on his own.

There were a lot of people that tried to tell me to give DS cereal in his bottle. He was BF and we had to supplement one formula bottle a day to get his weight up (he was tongue tied and it took awhile for his latch). My pedi said absolutely do not give him cereal in his bottle.

For every thing you are "supposed" to do there will be an someone waiting to pounce and tell you it's wrong. Stick to your guns Momma! It's your baby and you know what's right!

That stinks that you have to deal with people who think they have all the answers. I would just tell them you discussed it with the pedi and this is what you're going to do. I didn't even start introducing solids until 5mo and it was just BM in the Gerber oatmeal/banana cereal.

go, mama, go!! Good for you for sticking to your guns. MIL doesn't really tell me I should add cereal, just reminds me when it comes up that she gave Husband cereal at one month. "it's just the way things were back then!" Good to know. Thanks for the history lesson.

Good for you...nobody needs to tell you how to do things when it comes to parenting. Especially someone that hasn't had a baby in 20 plus years [I'm making an assumption here]. Lots on guidelines regarding child birth and rearing have changed over the years because we know so much more. You just keep making good decisions for your babe :]
