NBR: Pinterest Success for nursery!!

I guess this is sort of bump related.  DH was very skeptical about my pinterest projects that I have been planning for either the new place or for the nursery.  Last night I finally made him a beleiver.  For those that have seen them, I pinned a project for the no sew roman shades a while ago with the hope to do them for the nursery.  I finished my first last night in all of 15 minutes and it came out awesome!  I picked a super cute fabric and love the way they look.  Even better for those of us that love to save, I used old blinds the previous owner left in house that otherwise would have been trash!  My total cost was about $8 per shade!  This is a extra big win because this is the only thing I have done for the nursery so far! Whoops!

  • That's awesome! I'm certain I have the same thing pinned but I still went ahead and bought curtains Embarrassed I did get some shelving and frames at Ikea this weekend so I consider that a nursery win!

  • I consider that success for you too!

We are doing curtains as well, the curtains we got are blackout and the roman shades fabric will let some light in, I figured I might want some options since the sun rises on that side of the house!

  • Can you also post the how-to, or Pinterest link?  I need to get window coverings for our entire new second level, and the price for curtains makes me want to vomit. Not sure when I'll make the time to make blinds, but could always plan to start small with just the nursery first.

  • I don't have the pin handy but this is the link that I used to make my own.

The longest part of this process was letting the fabric adhesive dry.  I'm sure you could use one of the heat setting adhesives and it would work great!  I think in the blog they mention that if you don't already old mini blinds for use, target or walmart sell them for $6 ish.

Hopefully that works!  It not my pinterest username is elafferty09 and I pinned it onto my future projects board!
