I have friends who do it, but I'm not. I'm buying low VOC paint and my mom is painting the nursery. Better safe than sorry is my thinking. I don't judge people who do it, though.
My OB looked at me like I had 2 heads when I asked this question last time! You'll be fine, just keep it ventilated and take breaks as needed.
I painted the nursery for Norah, no probs!
If it's low VOC, the most I'll do is open a window and turn on a box fan. No point in being paranoid, it's not going to hurt you. Now, if it's some straight-up Killz paint, that's another story entirely. That stuff is rank and will make you dizzy in minutes. I won't touch it with a ten-foot pole even when not pregnant.
I have painted over 1/2 my house and several pieces of furniture since BFP. I just open windows, use fans, and take breaks every 1520 minutes to walk outside for fresh air.
