banging on glass table

in October 2011 Moms
My LO keeps banging on the glass top on the end tables. Any suggestions of something to put on it so she doesn't break it, besides telling her to stop?

    Is it that she likes the noise?  Maybe cover it with something that will dull the sound, so it's not as interesting.  Or if the glass is removable, take it out and put in some wood instead.

    When N bangs her cup on the table (though ours is wood) I simple tell her "not for banging, be gentle" and show her how to be gentle. Can you take your LO's hands and demonstrate gentle hands? Otherwise maybe invest in a good toy drum to redirect her energies.

    This is a battle I fight daily as well.  I stop him when he does it and redirect him.  We tried covering the glass, but he pulled the cover off.
