Any reviews on the Medela Advanced Personal Double Pump in the beige bag? It's the only one my insurance says it will cover for now, because our plan renews in July, so it doesn't fall under new "better" guidelines for coverage.
I asked this question once before and someone that had one told me that it's essentially the same as the Medela PISA. The main difference is the bag (it's not as attractive as the PISA). The Personal Double Pump also comes with parts for a manual pump, which is odd seeing as it's supposed to be LESS expensive for insurance companies than the PISA.
Thanks, that makes me feel better. And I don't really care about the bag--I can always disguise it in one of my reusable shopping bags. Besides, it's free.
I've heard good things about the PISA, so hopefully this is just as good. I think the main difference I could discern from the Freestyle is that it is not hands free--which would have been nice.
Butting in - you can make this one "hands free" by using a pumping bra. You can either buy a specific one from Medela, or Pump Ease, or if you are lucky and can find a cheap sports bra, you can cut holes to stick the ends of the flanges through and it will hold them for you. I have used the Pump Ease for the last two and a half years (one planned and one unplanned pregnancy) because I can't find a cheap sports bra (women with bra size 36N apparently don't exercise). It makes it really nice because you can still use both hands to do whatever you need to do - for me, I can keep working at my desk during pumping sessions (private office).
