Something annoying

My ILs gave DD a set of those foam alphabet mats for Christmas. We really don't have a place for them and my SIL had told me before how she hated the one my nieces had, so I had planed on returning them. My MIL took it upon herself to remove the packaging and start setting it up. I told her I wasn't sure where I wanted them and to leave them for now. So they are just sitting in a pile in DDs room. Awesome sauce. Of course, now before every visit I will probably have to set them out because she notices everything. Like a Christmas present she gave me last year still in the box in the bottom of my pantry. She told DH she guessed she wouldn't give me anything like that again. Awkward.

Re: Something annoying

  • My friends MIL buys a bunch of junk for them. She has everything in a box in the closet with a list of everything MIL has bought them and her son. Before MIL comes over, she sets everything out. Ha!

I am going to have to do this!

  • The list even has where items are placed before she comes so she doesn't forget anything and she can refer back to the list while cleaning up everything. She feels really bad about it because her MIL gets so excited about all of these trinkets and stuff that is the complete opposite of my friends taste. Luckily, her MIL lives 45min away so she never shows up unexpected. So they always have 45min or more to set everything out. However, her son is almost at talking age, which means she will need to set things out and take them down while he is napping so he doesn't spill the beans about "mommy and daddy put all of these pretty things out for you grandma, and then when you leave...they go back in the box in the closet..."
