What were your LO's birh weights? I'm somewhat surprised because DD was four days "older" gestationally when she was born this week than DS was when he was born, yet she weighed almost a full pound less than he did when he was born. She is teeny and after losing about 7% of her weight in the hospital, even the newborn clothing is just swimming on her!

My LO was born at 39 weeks 5 days and weighed 8lbs. My other 3 boys were born between 38 and 40 weeks and all weighed between 7lbs 3oz and 7lbs5oz. My firstborn was the teensiest at 39w 5days 6lbs 11oz.
DS was 41w 1d and 7lbs 8oz 21". DD was 40w 4d and 9lbs 1oz 20". So she was 4 days 'sooner', an inch shorter and about a pound and a half heavier! Def a surprise. She's now 3.5 weeks old and in size 1 diapers and 3 month clothes.
DS was born 40w 2d and weighed 7lbs 13oz, DD was born 39w 4d and weighed 6lbs 14oz. I was also surprised that she was a lb smaller and actually, 2 full inches shorter.
So, yea, they come early and are big babies for their age, with my three week early baby being the biggest. I shudder to think what they would have weighed had I made it to 40 weeks.
Congrats on your daughter.

Secondary infertility success with IVF, then two losses, one at 14 weeks and one at 10 weeks, then success with IUI and then just pure, crazy luck. Expecting our fifth in May as the result of a FET.
I was induced at 38 weeks and 2 days for pre-e with DS1, and he was 5 lbs 9 oz and 18.5 in. DS2 came on his own at 38 weeks and 3 days (no pg complications), and was 6 lbs 5 oz and 18.75 in.
I'm just figuring DS is going to be big like his daddy (6'3" tall and very broad-shouldered), while DD is going to be closer to my size (5'3" and medium-framed). I'm glad it's this way and not the other way around (little boy and big girl) though!
Your little girl looks great, chubby cheeks and hands, great pink color, and content.
Little man was born at 38 w 6 d according to conception date; he was 6lb 12oz. DD was born at 39w 3 d according to LMP, and she was 7 lb 2 oz.
So, my 2nd was 6 oz lighter than my first, and they were probably just days apart in gestational age. Everyone comments on how robust and healthy he looks, even though he's not a big baby. He also is a very calm baby.
You probably don't have anything to worry about! Plus, since the little one showed up, DD just seems like a giant in comparison. The contrast is a little deceiving.
Crazy! We have had the same experience. LO #2 was born gestationally 2 days older, and a second boy (which everyone said would make him bigger), and he was 10 oz smaller than my first boy!
He was actually covered in vernix and only 7 lb 2 oz, and my midwives told me they think he looks to be much more like a 38/39 weeker than a 40+3er. My first was 7 lb 12 oz, at 40+1 and almost NO vernix.
Sorta wild!
Even crazier though is that my first gained weight crazy fast, but not even as fast as this little guy. He's over 10 lb already - 3 lb in 3 weeks, and he weighs what his brother did at 3 weeks, so he totally caught up ALREADY. Like you, I was surprised how all the NB stuff swallowed him up, but he's in 3 month stuff now.

DS #1 - 8 lbs 12 oz at 41 weeks
DS #2 - 8 lbs 10 oz at 40 weeks (I'm happy that he didn't wait until 41 weeks like his brother. Who knows how big he would have been.)
