A little stressed.

My new endocrinologist took me off my thyroid meds today (I'm hyper) and I'm a little nervous about it. I was on too much medication which was making me hypo, so I understand what she is doing, but since I've been on the medication for over a year, it's a weird change especially since I'm pregnant.  Like, it was working, why would I have to completely get off the medication?  I'm 9 weeks, so it's all still so stressful thinking about any sudden changes or movements, I'm going to miscarry....ugh. Anyone have a similar experience?

  • I am also the opposite with hypo and have already increased once and getting labs drawn again today. It's really common to change supplementation levels one way or the other during pregnancy. As far as I've heard, being very hypo is a higher risk for miscarriage. Do you have plans to have your tsh checked again soon? I advocated for sooner rather than later.

  • It takes a while for the levels to change, so I don't want to get it done too soon. We tested today, so she'll call me tomorrow to let me know, but the last time I tested was last week and that same day they lowered my dosage, so I doubt today's test will show much difference. My doctor also said that being too hypo has a greater risk since the baby won't be getting much thyroid hormone, so she wants my levels to be on the higher side within the range. Ugh. I know it'll be ok since I'm being monitored, but I already feel uncomfortable having a problem while pregnant, I don't want the problem to have problems. Hahaha. If that makes any sense. We already heard the heartbeat, and it was a beautiful perfect heartbeat.  So I'm hoping my chances for miscarriage are slim now anyway because of that.  I could whine forever, but I guess in the end, it's not up to me...I just have to trust in god that everything will turn out the way it's supposed to.
