Glyburide - When do you take it?

My doctor put me on 2.5 of glyburide to lower my fasting numbers (97-106) and just put once a day on the script.  When do you take yours if you are trying to lower your fasting numbers?  I am waiting on a call back from the doctore, but probably won't hear back until late tomorrow.

  • Same here.  I take the same amount you do sometime between 9 and 10pm.

If I am not hungry, I take the meds without a snack and I haven't noticed a difference in my morning number.

  • Bed time if you're using it to control your fastings.

  • I've had issues with my fasting numbers as well and I was told to take it with dinner. I started with 1 pill, then was bumped to 2, then was bumped to 3 last week and that actually seems to do the trick for my fasting numbers.

I felt totally normal with 1 and 2 pills, but I definitely have to eat some sugar/carbs with 3 pills or I feel sick.
  • Thanks ladies.  I tried it with a snack before bed last night and I was under 95, hope it wasn't just a fluke!

  • I take it at bed time, usually between 10 & 11.
