Thanks for the post MZ. I think this board honestly is way too judgmental of everyone - I think my post was a reaction against that that simply came out judgmental too. In any case, LO is generally very happy so I must be doing something right. I'm pretty good at recognizing his cues.
I always get the biggest smiles out of Preston. I've had different people comment on that. Even though sometimes I feel like a failure, when he smiles so big at me, it's like he's saying, "Mom, you're the best. I love you!"
Also, I like to think I do a good job at talking with him and interacting with him.
I taught Elijah how to drive last week. Mother of the Year, bishes!
Seriously, though, I'm pretty good at picking up on his cues and fusses, especially the difference between his "I want to go to bed RIGHT NOW" and his "I'm getting sleepy and just want to cuddle" fusses.
ds#2 is very difficult. The best thing that I have been able to do for him is patience. I feel like not everyone could handle this kid and I'm glad that I have the patience to still love him through it all.

I feel like I'm giving Leo all the love that he needs, so much so that he has started hugging and "kissing" me back (he doesn't do that for DH yet).
I also feel like I can sense when he's overtired and can get him out of a situation quickly.
I've notice my LO gives kisses too! I don't think he knows. LIke you can't say "give me kisses" but he totally opens his mouth puts his mouth on my cheek for a second and pulls back. I love it! He does it to DH too. When he's hungry he sucks and there's tongue, LOL!

jk ... I love how his eyes light up when he sees me; how I know a hungry cry from a tired cry, how when I start to sing the word "the" he starts to laugh because he knows I'm about to sing his favorite song "the wheels on the bus."
I feel that I just take really good care of Sydney, if that makes sense. From making sure her room is nice to making sure she is happy and is loved. Great post, it's not very often that we give ourselves a pat on the back. We are all doing a great job everyday.

Ok let's turn this all around! Let list something we feel we do well as a mom!
I feel like I am very good at recognizing DD needs prior her getting upset!
Edited for grammar!
same here! I can see subtle changes in his behavior or expressions and will say he's not happy and everyone tells me oh he's fine and then bam...meltdown and back to mommy lol.
I'm good at reading his cues. We also have some pretty awesome conversations .
I can totally read LO unlike anyone else, and I know exactly when he needs a nap.
And speaking of conversations, apparently, my husband reported to me this morning, that DS and I were talking to each other in our sleep last night. DS would coo in his sleep and I would moan back, and then he would respond, and this went on for quite a while! I swear I don't remember a THING, I was totally out. Lol
I would have to say breastfeeding and knowing her cues. Dd always wants me and I nbow what she needs or wants. I feel like I actually know her instead of when thy are born a stranger and no idea of their personality

This. I love how she instantly calms down with me. It makes me feel like I have created a wonderful bond.

Breastfeeding. He's a pro and it shows!
Soothing. It's amazing how he calms down so quickly when he's with me.

I also feel like I'm doing a great job of BFing him in spite of the social difficulty and pressure of friends and family being uncomfortable with it.
