Babies: 9 - 12 Months

What is your 8th month old eating (solids)?

DD is still eating pureed fruits & veggies along with cereal. She has 3 meals of solids a day.

I'm still introducing other fruits & veggies. I'm curious if anyone has moved onto things such as meats/poultry.

 Thanks!

  • Between 8 & 9 months (C just hit 9 months), we went from purees to a complete puree strike, now he eats table food - anything we eat, he eats.  Our pedi okayed it, he hasn't had any reactions, and despite the fact that he's still toothless, he does great with it, even the meat.

  • DD is not quite 8 mos old yet, but we have tried meats and poultry. I really didn't want to b/c the thought of pureed meat kinda grosses me out, but my dh bought them so we decided to give them a whirl.  She loved them and they keep her full longer than the veggies or fruits do!  We do a cereal and fruit, a veggie, and usually a meat every day.

  • Just fruits, veggies, and cereal.  She also loves cheerios.  We haven't introduced meat, dairy or anything like that yet, I'm not sure when we will or when we're supposed to...

We are still introducing new things too, although she hasn't liked a lot of them recently.  I'm running out of ideas of new foods to introduce.

We usually do 2 meals a day, with a fruit and cereal for breakfast and a veggie, fruit, and cereal for lunch or dinner.

    Peru!

  • We started meats around 6.5 months.

  • DS is doing fruits, veggies, yogurt, cereal, puffs, toast, pancakes, pasta, rice, crackers, cut up chunks of fruit, we started chicken and he's some little pieces of sausage & bacon. He normally has breakfast, lunch, and a snack meal at daycare then we give him dinner when he gets home. We also let him try most things off of our plates just to see if he likes it and how he does. He isn't great at picking things up and feeding himself yet but he tries and likes to do it on his own.
  • She's eating meat and dairy now.  I also have just started giving her table food.  She's had no reactions so I am just avoiding the most allergenic foods now, like strawberries, peanuts, shellfish etc.

  • Stage 3 gerber foods, meats (at 6 months) mostly pureed myself so I make it thick and chunky. He could eat some shredded pork, for example. He is so/so about self feeding- sometimes he does alright, not that often. Bananas, oranges, crackers.. pretty much anything!
