FB Group requests PSA READ THIS IF YOU PM'D ME!!!

Ok, so I've been busy buzzing back and forth between here and facebook today trying to get everyone added, messaged, or otherwise taken care of.

If any of you have messaged me and haven't heard from me either here or on facebook, please please page me and let me know.

One other thing... I've had a few requests from lurkers who either haven't ever posted here, or who haven't posted here in over a year. (and aren't posting regularly anywhere else) While the facebook group isn't exclusive and we want everyone to feel welcome to join, I'm going to ask you guys to please post more here before I add you to the group. You don't have to become a "reg", but at least post enough to be recognized, ok? I personally do not feel comfortable adding people that we've never really seen around here.

I know that we share a lot on this page, and it's open for all to see, but the facebook group is vastly more personal (IMO. People can't see your info if you're not friends, but we're more personal there) and I feel like we need to do what we can to try to protect ourselves and our families.

The reason this FB group is, as you say, cool is because people like our lancypants come back on TB and continue to ask people if they want to join. Y'all joined, made a group with crazy rules, and left.

I honestly dont think the rules are that crazy though and that much far off from what you all are asking either. You guys are all for not letting lurkers in. You say that you want to be able to recognize the people posting.

It wasnt like we were getting rid of people because we didnt like them or didnt want to hear what they had to say. It was people who were lurkers and didnt post. It was a privacy and protection issue. And we simply put a definition on lurking.

That's my 2cents.

What's the point of coming back to the board after posting three times in the last year, just to say nana booboo, we have a fb group too. Seriously? We don't care that you have your own group. Good for you. ::pats strangers on back and leaves ribbon::

The difference is that we're not exclusive, we're completely welcoming of new members as long as they have participated here/we "recognize" them. We don't kick anyone out of the fb group for not participating enough.

We haven't heard hide nor hair from most of you all since about first tri. You never participate here anymore [except, apparently, to whine and be snarky jerks about the new fb group], and you certainly don't extend invitations to your little exclusive group.

I'm actually confused as to why any of you felt the need to come back here and add... whatever it is you think you're adding.

You're welcome to come back here and be productive members of the board. Otherwise, I think we'd all appreciate it if you kept your snarky, holierthanthou selves to your exclusive fb club.

Two reasons I haven't requested to join.

1) I feel attacked just for trying to point out some similarities and try to clarify. I wasn't being snarky. I wasn't being mean or attacking. If what I said was interpreted as snark that wasnt my intent.

2) I don't think that I would have enough time to get as involved in a second group. I already spend way too much time online as it is.

And just to add, I have in fact posted here since first tri. I remember posting several responses to posts about switching to convertible carseats specifically. I freely admit I am mostly a lurker on the Feb board though. I post a lot more on the CD board.

What's really funny is the post about having almost 100 members and maybe 20% of people participating. We have over 100 and everyone participates. Not because they have no but because they want to. There were several waves of invites for this group waaaay back cuz we were all here since First Tri. The group was made two Augusts ago. People who didn't comment or participate for a looong time were taken out because people didn't feel comfortable sharing photos and information where lurkers could be just watching and taking it all in. You never know who just pops on in from TB, could be a sicko. So if they had no interest in talking or asking questions or answering them and sat in silence for months, they were ousted.

Which sounds a whole hell of a lot like Lancy's "we'd like to know who you are so at least talk a little" plea.
