Feeling worse, not better

Anyone else feeling worse the closer they get to 2nd tri? I started out with severe abomdinal pain after eating pretty much anything. My primary put me on meds and referred me to a GI doctor (next week) and the pain is somewhat better and I can tolerate more food without pain. BUT... I am now dry heaving and/or nauseous almost constantly, more tired and more constipated. My Senna and Colace is no longer working and I feel like an irritible, miserable B- all the time. Neither of my last 2 pregnancies were anything like this. Maybe it's a boy...

Re: Feeling worse, not better

  • I'll be 12 weeks Monday and this week and last have been my worst for symptoms! More nausea, headaches, dizziness, emotional...

  • Sadly, some women never get a break. One of my friends in my mom group was throwing up the entire pregnancy and had trouble gaining weight. She was miserable the entire time. I really hope this isn't the case for anyone here.

I am actually feeling tiny bits better, but every time I think I'm doing great I have one really bad day and night. We just have to ride it out.

  • I am still very nauseous and I still gag a lot. I remember feeling sick through 16 weeks with DS and then it eased up. Even after I felt better, I still had days where I was nauseous through 20 weeks. I remember I felt the best during my 5th month. I will take the discomfort of 3rd tri over feeling sick all the time though.

  • Maybe it is a boy!

I had m/s months 3-5 with DS1 and months 2-5 with DS2.  I am wondering if this one is a girl since I have only physically heaved 5x so far, mostly when I was off my normal routine. I never took any meds with my pregnancies, but I hope your drs can give you something to give you some relief soon.

  • I'm miserable today! I can't imagine how bad I would feel without zofran. We were visiting family yesterday and today, and stayed at a hotel. Awesome made to order breakfast. All I ate was fruit and an English muffin and I vomited as soon as we were back in our room. Felt awful ALL day. Have either dry heaved or thrown up every hour or two. The two hour drive home was FUN!

I was constipated until Christmas day from the zofran, felt ok on Christmas, and since then have been pretty icky. I ate a full meal On Christmas, too!!

I am not too hopeful it will disappear any time soon. My mom and one of my sisters were both sick their entire pregnancies. My mom never gained more than 17 pounds with any of us! My sister was a labor and delivery nurse and often worked with her own doctor. He would hook her up to IVs at work. Zofran wasn't an option at the time!

  • Since I hit 9 weeks on Wednesday I have felt miserable! I thought I was getting a cold but it's definitely m/s and other symptoms.

  • I felt much, much worse at 9 weeks than any other time, not even being able to keep water down.  At 10 weeks, I've been a bit better and only get really nauseous or throw up if I wait too long between meals/snacks.  I read that your hormones could reach their peak anytime between 9 and 12 weeks, so I'm guessing mine peaked at week 9 and have been leveling off or my body's been adjusting better since then.

  • I am also feeling worse as I get closer to the second trimester. I felt some nausea up through week 9 but never got sick. It has only been getting worse the past two weeks. I actually have gotten sick a few times, I think the dry heaving is the worst though. I have felt nauseous most of last night and today. I know if I eat, it will help a little. The problem is nothing sounds tasty. I am trying to eat muffins, granola bars and crackers and drinking Gatorade. Here's to hoping we all feel better really soon!
