What everyone likes on their hotdogs, and if it's a regional thing?
I love all kinds of dogs. My mother, from upstate NY puts sauerkraut on her dogs, and I like them too.
My Dad, from WV likes meat sauce and coleslaw on his. I like that way as well.
Also, my family would put pork and beans on our hotdogs as well. Or just plain ketchup, mustard and onions.
I will judge anyone who likes Skyline chili dogs though. Skyline is disgusting.
ETA: I forgot about relish. DH loves relish. I hate it with a passion. Do not come near my hotdog with that sh!t.
Re: I must know...
At ball games, I put ketchup and mustard on them.
Had to google this...
...and now I kinda want a hot dog for lunch.
ETA: couldn't find a place to deliver. Dominos is coming instead.
What in the world is in their chili??? Cinnamon? Really?
Hot dogs are fantastic. I couldn't pick just one way to have them because there are SOOOOO many good combos!
Also, the ripped hot dogs - are those the deep fried ones? I've always wanted to try that!
This. Why mess with perfection? Maybe this should go in the uo thread?
I LOVE hotdogs. I will pretty much eat just about anything on a hotdog with the exception of Kraut.
If I make a hotdog at home it generally has mayo, mustard, ketchup, diced onions and tomatoes, jalapenos, and shredded cheese. If I have made chili then I make hotdogs with chili, jalapenos, diced tomatoes and onions and cheese on top.
I prefer Nathan's hotdogs.
Like this....
this.
hot dogs are just scrapple in link form.
I grew up on mustard, ketchup, and relish on my hotdogs.
Now, I prefer either just mustard, or if the option presents itself, mustard, onions, and bacon bits. I can handle a little cheese sauce, too.
It's a over ambitious Chicago Dog made by yours truly at a Cubs game.
Made with grilled onion, neon green relish, tomatoes, mustard, sport peppers, celery salt, and lots of love.
How do I eat it? It's complicated.
Mmmm now I'm craving a Seattle hot dog which I haven't had since I lived there during college days. Up there, they make them with cream cheese slathered on a toasted bun, with grilled onions. I like to add mustard, pickles, ketchup, sauerkraut, and jalapenos; basically any topping you can give me!
This has got to be regional because my mind is blown.
I have only ever had a hotdog with spicy brown mustard and sometimes sauerkraut.
