Re: What age did you STOP using the crib?

  • 18 months. ?We had a gate at his door, but he always stayed in bed all night long.

  • We stopped at 18 months because DD was climbing out of her crib, and we had another one on the way.  She has side rails on her bed, but never really even tried to get out. We were pretty strict with our rules and expectiations and it seemed to work well. She even just sits there when she wakes up in the morning and waits for us.
  • Hi Whitedress!

With Noah, we put him in a toddler bed at 2 1/2.  Georgia is still loving her crib for now, and doesn't try to get out- yet.  I'm going to keep her in it as long as I can.

  • about 20 months. dd stays in toddler bed (with rails built on) until she is ready to get up. We have a gate in her doorway to prevent her from getting out of her room without us knowing.

  • 21 months bc he climbed out and had an egg on his head from hitting the glider and a fat lip. I swear the kid looked like he was beat up, but he never cried, I guess he knew he was doing something he shouldnt be.we converted his crib into the toddler bed and we have the rail up and he too stays in bed until someone comes in for him. I have to say it was a lot easier then I thought it was going to be. the 1st few days of naps were tough, but after that smooth sailing! GL!

  • DD was 20 months.  We needed the crib for #2, and she did not want to be in it anymore.  We got a bed rail, but she never really needed it.  She's a good sleeper, so she would stay in bed all night.

DS is almost 20 months and I can NOT imagine putting him in a big boy bed any time soon.  I think we'll keep him locked up as long as we can :-)

  • The day she turned 28 months she woke up and said, "Sleep in a big girl bed."  I took off the crib rail and used a small bedrail for a week until we got the twin bed set up.  It's the top bunk of a bunk bed that has guardrails on it, but she never gets out. . . and at this point, I don't even think she'll fall out. . . she's always right in the middle of the bed when I check on her.

  • 31 months. He would've been there until now probably (3.5 y.o.) but we decided to switch him because I was too pg to be lifting him in and out and he wanted nothing to do with daddy during the last months of my 2nd pg.

to keep him in there? bribes :-)

  • she still uses her crib (converted to a toddler bed) at 3 yrs and 4 months

  • Noah's big boy furniture got delivered today, but who knows when we'll make the official move.
  • 25 mo.  Nothing.
  • DS was 2.5 yrs old when we moved him to his big boy bed.  We never had any problems keeping him in bed so I can't help you much with that question.
  • DD is still in hers - she will be 3 in February.  I just have no reason to move her.  She doesn't really climb out and we aren't having another one anytime soon.  I like her confined, honestly!
  • 2 yrs 8 mos to be exact....went right into a twin bunk bed, did fine...never had any sleep issues or issues w/ him not staying put.  I plan to keep all my kids in the crib for as long as possible...
