Hi everyone...I'm not a regular poster, but am in the process of researching convertible seats for my DD and am completely and totaly overwhelmed by the options.
DD is currently 6 mos and is 18.5 lbs and 25.5 inches. I am about 5'8" and DH is about 6" even. We split drop off and pick up duties, so we'll definitely need two seats (probably a third for my parents to use, but I'm trying to focus on the ones that will get daily use). I drive a 2011 Honda Fit and DH drives a 2012 Mazda 5. Most of our family driving takes place in the Mazda. I do plan to RF as long as I can. DD still fits well in her Keyfit, but I'd like to take advantage of sales if they come up over the next few weeks.
Whew...so after all that, my main issue is that the seats that sound like they'll fit well (specifically the Diono Radian, possibly a True Fit?) are no where to be found for me to check them out, so I'm going to have to order online and just hope for the best. Does anyone have experience fitting seats in either of these cars? Any other seats I should be looking at?! I'd like something that's fairly easy to install correctly, since that's a big fear of mine. Help!
Re: Honda fit/Mazda 5 and convertible carseats
You can try posting on that forum to find specific assistance.
I own Radians and they are a huge PITA to install most of the time, although easier to install RF than FF, IMO. The Graco MyRide would be a viable option.
