I have been wondering about DD's poo and figured I would ask you ladies as I don't have a Pedi appointment until Jan 7.
I'm hoping it is just a hind/foremilk thing but thought to ask anyway. She does have a few normal diapers every few days. Orange and a good consistency. However, it seems more of them are green and very mucousy (no visible blood). She doesn't act uncomfortable and isn't gassy or constipated. We definitely aren't lacking in the amount of messy diapers. She is only BF but does get a lot of pumped milk.
So I guess my question is when and how did you decide to try an elimination diet? I am not excited about eliminating anything from my diet and am a huge dairy eater. I haven't tried to see if anything I eat correlates with her poop so maybe I should start there. Green doesn't bother me but the mucous makes me wonder.
TIA!!

Re: Question about Poo... those with elimination diets help?
I am thinking a hind/foremilk thing. We get green diapers too. I don't really worry about them. Maybe I am too relaxed?
How is it mucousy? I mean... baby poop in generally has some weird consistencies. Anyways... if she doesn't seem bothered, I wouldn't worry about doing anything. Although, definitely ask at the doctor's appointment... but I am thinking that you are over thinking it.
I think so too, I am just reading all of these posts about poop and I get to thinking. Always a bad thing when I start to think about things!
Her diapers get pretty slimy, like a snot consistancy and stringy (?). Not sure if that explains it but that's about all I've got. I'll ask Pedi when the appointment comes around. I'm kind of in the "if she's not bothered then I'm not" mentality.
ugh i just typed out a whole response and the bump ate it. stupid bump.
anyway, this is how my lo's allergy started, it just slowly got worse and worse until i started seeing blood in the green diapers, then they all turned green. you can bring one of the green diapers to the pedi and they can test for blood. does your lo strain when pooping, have acid reflux/ excessive spit up, diaper rash, eczema, or nasal congestion? these are also signs of a food allergy.
good luck
