A couple of weeks ago H and I went to a baby boutique and spent over an hour looking at strollers. We decided on the Versa and were happy about the decision. A few days later the recall came out. I'm not scared away by the recall, because I know they can happen to everyone and it was a voluntary one, but I'm a little skeptical about the way BJ handled it. Apparently there were a lot of complaints and BJ kept saying there wasn't a recall, until finally they did recall it. And if you go on their FB page, anytime someone asks about the Versa or when the new, corrected model is coming out, they keep responding with a canned message to just call customer service.
Our backup choice is the Uppababy Vista. H really liked it, and although I kind of thought it was a beast, it does fulfill our other requirements. I'm not due till May so we have a lot of time yet, but I have family members asking about which stroller we want, so I suspect they want to give it to us as a gift. If you were me, would you wait around to see what happened with the Versa, or would the customer service and stuff make you go with the Vista instead?
Sorry this was so long.
Re: BJ Versa recall...Uppababy Vista?
Yeah, H didn't like the Cruz because he thought the wheels were a lot more unsubstantial. We'll probably be doing a lot of sidewalk strolling.
Honestly, I would still go with the Versa. They fixed the issue. A canned message on FB is normal. I highly doubt Baby Jogger really runs their own FB page. A lot of companies outsource.
I have had to contact Baby Jogger via phone a few times and have been nothing but pleased.

I wasn't a huge fan of the Cruz fold - I kept having issues figuring it out - but I could adjust. Our sidewalks are pretty old and bumpy, and I think that's what H is worried about. He also just said he didn't like the Cruz as well as some of the other options, unfortunately.
