Good morning, ladies! As always, mamas of one and unders are welcome.
Any challenges this week? Milestones? Funny stories?
GTKY: Did you believe in Santa Claus when you were little? When did you stop believing? Will you tell/have you told your LO(s) about the man in the suit?
Re: ~*~ Infant Check-in~*~
Also, we saw Santa this week and she didn't cry! Yay!
GTKY. Um...Santa's not real?!
ETA. spelling, grammar...haha, I may still have errors
I'm new to this board but I'd like to be a more active participant!
Any challenges this week? Milestones? Funny stories? Natalie is 10 weeks old and has a stuffy nose making nursing very difficult for both of us. She is hungry but has a tough time swallowing with all that junk in her nose. We both get frustrated.
GTKY: Did you believe in Santa Claus when you were little? When did you stop believing? Will you tell/have you told your LO(s) about the man in the suit? I believed in Santa Claus but have no idea when I stopped or why. I'm guessing my older brother probably ruined it for me! We will let Natalie believe in Santa and will play along for as long as she believes!

Ugh, see my last few posts...Raylan was always just naturally a good sleeper, he'd wake up every few hrs to eat, but just go right back to sleep. Lately he's been terrible at sleeping at night, waking up super cranky for no reason...try to feed him and he screams at it. We tried putting him to bed earlier and that was a fail. I don't know what to do, I hate that I get so cranky at him in the motn but its soooo frustrating. I'm exhausted and tired of hearing about babies sttn at his age.
gtky: I figured out Santa was fake but didnt tell my mom because I didn't want to make her sad, haha. I can't wait until he is old enough for all that fun stuff!

Hi ladies!
luvinlife: we used a nasal aspirator when our boys had a cold and it made a world of difference. Way more affective than the bulb.
Petunia: I hope Raylan starts sleeping better soon! I know how frustrating that is - Tommy usually wakes up super cranky too.
As for me, the boys have been sleeping for longer stretches at night (about 5 hours) and it is awesome! We are also beginning to use cloth diapers, and so far they are working pretty well. Both boys have begun to smile recently too and it absolutely melts my heart. It only happens maybe once a day though.
QOTW: I definitely believed in Santa. We would leave reindeer cookies (dog biscuits) and carrots out in the yard for the reindeer. I am sure the neighborhood raccoons loved it!
This week: DS rolled from back to side on Friday and has been doing it constantly ever since. He also found his thumb and is generally delighted with himself. The great part about that is he's had two terrific nights since then. He will now put himself to sleep on his play mat by rolling onto his side and sticking his thumb in his mouth. We had the 4-month checkup (16 lb 10 oz, 25") and the shots and aftermath weren't too bad.
GTKY: I can't remember ever believing in Santa. My parents were really into the "true meaning of Christmas" - which is great, don't get me wrong - but I missed out on things like Santa and Halloween and the Easter bunny. We plan to take a more moderate approach with our LOs.
I hope everyone is having a great day!
Challenges this week...getting LO to nap better and to nap in her room. First in the PNP then hopefully in her crib. I go back to work next week so i'm hoping she can transition sooner than later. I think we all will sleep better once we have our own rooms. I know I will.
No milestones. Funny story: LO is sucking on her hands more. Its so funny because she makes the funniest noise when she does. I can't even explain it.
Congrats to Heatherhah! Baby girl has finally arrived!
Congrats to my Labor Buddy SouthernBellaKS
DD cut both front lower teeth in the last week. Yesterday & today she's been grabbing at one of her ears but I'm not sure if it's an infection coming or maybe she has bad wax buildup in there like her daddy had as a baby. (Appt tomorrow) She's not really cranky so I'm guessing it's the latter.
GTKY: I believed in Santa, don't remember when I stopped but it was probably because my older brother told me he wasn't real. We'll definitely keep the magic alive with DD until she's old enough to figure it out.
Any challenges this week? Sleep has been our main challenge lately. L is back to getting up two times a night and I don't know why. I don't do anything differently on the now rare nights that she STTN, so I don't even know where to begin to try to fix this. It's frusterating and I'm getting tired.
Milestones? L is starting to sit by herself! She gets better at it every day. She's also starting to grow out of her 6m clothes and is moving into 6-9m. I get so sad everytime I have to rotate clothes, knowing that she'll never wear any of those cute small things again.
GTKY: Did you believe in Santa Claus when you were little? When did you stop believing? Will you tell/have you told your LO(s) about the man in the suit?
I didn't believe in Santa growing up, so I never experienced finding out he wasn't real. We are doing Santa with L because it's fun and I want her to have a magical Christmas every year. And I'm not going to lie, I'm living vicariously through her since I never got to really experience the magic of Santa.

Challenges have been sleep but it's getting better. B started rolling from back to belly so we had to start swaddling hands out. He went from STTN completely swaddle to waking up 5 times the first night with his arms out. Now were down to him waking once to eat and then going back to sleep so hopefully he will drop the 4am feeding soon and go back to STTN. Milestones are rolling back to belly, buzzing his lips and he has also discovered his hands so is constantly holding his hands together or staring at them while trying to get them to his mouth. It's the funniest thing.
Yes I believed in Santa when I was little and it made Christmas so magical and exciting. I was probably 9 or 10 when I started snooping and realized mommy and daddy bought our gifts from Santa. We will definitely tell B about Santa and I cannot wait until he gets to an age when he really understands who Santa is and gets excited about him!

~*~*Everyone Welcome*~*~
Hi mamas!
Little Emma is growing very well and gaining weight like mad! She's up over 30 ounces from birth! Can't believe she will be three weeks old on Wednesday! We have been doing well with breastfeeding and have tried out a few bottle feeds and they went ok. She is still giving me enough sleep and I love her so much!
GTKY: I believed in Santa and realized he wasn't real in about 4th grade. I plan to introduce Emma to Santa and have no problems explaining how he is not real but brings out the best in all of us why it is time to stop believing. Santa is cool. I don't want her to miss out!
Same here. My patents wanted us to know the "true meaning of Christmas" and so we didn't get believe in Santa, or the Easter bunny, or the tooth fairy, or any of that. I'm all for teaching kids the meaning of Christmas, but I don't think they should miss out on stuff because of it.

~ Well I haven't been around much these past few days, because my LO is still having constipation issues (I've been posting plenty about his gas issues ;P). He went from regular, to not going for four days, and finally, I called a doctor (after having tried gas relief drops - after having switched to a sensitive formula three/four weeks ago, after doing all the relief/pressure massages, knees to chest, etc., and sleeping upright in everything from the car seat, to swing, to whatever the heck keeps him happy atm) . . . now I get to do apple juice at night, and a rectal probing every other day to help him go: every.other.day. (I'm scared to do the probing too much, and his muscles become so dependent on it, that he can't go on his own or something
). Blargh. Thanks to all this gas stuff, the poor babe can't sleep out of my arms for more than thirty minutes at a time all.day.long (safe to say, nothing gets done until my hubby wakes up, after his work shift). Not until he is so physically exhausted, he can't keep his eyes open, does he finally pass out - but at least it's a five hour stretch. Then again, one five hour stretch arms free is a little too late, if I'm so exhausted from holding him all day, that all I can do is pass out beside him. Er, I'm lucky if I have time to pee, and grab a cup of fruit in those thirty minutes before he wakes up again . . . and now he's up. Time to go - maybe I'll be back next week ;P
