Pregnant after 35

Know the sex of your baby? Try this please!

Ok.... so... I was just watching a TV show where these two women were about to cut into cakes that were going to tell them the sex of their babies (as already determined via ultrasound) and they decided to have a little fun and do the old wedding ring on a string test.  They tied each woman's wedding ring to a string and put the ring in front of each woman's belly.  One woman's went around in a circle (indicating girl) and the other's went back and forth in a straight line (indicating boy).  When they cut into the cakes they discovered that the ring test was accurate in both women!  The only other time I have seen this done was when Bethenney Frankel did it on her show and it indicated she was having a girl right before she delivered her daughter Bryn.  Those of you that already know the sex of your baby should try it to see if it is accurate and report back to me!  Mine went in a circle and I desperately want a girl.  Do you think it was wishful circling?  Just thought it might be a fun experiment :)  Thank you in advance to those of you who are kind enought to try it for me :)

  • It is supposedly another one of those old wives tales but I did mine a while back and it shows girl.  I have my A/S on Wednesday so I will have to report back and let you know whether it worked correctly or not.  We are hoping for a girl though.  Keeping fingers X'd.

  • I did the ring test when I was pregnant with DD and it did the circle (girl).  Not sure how accurate it is or just luck, but still a fun test.  Oh, and I didn't do it on a string, I used a strand of my hair.  That's the way I was told to do it.

  • After 10 minutes of it unspinning itself it went back and forth.
  • I didn't do the ring test (may try it later at home), but I did the Chinese gender predictor for both of mine and it was correct both times.

     What does DD mean?

  • DD means dear daughter.  Any time you are unsure of the acronyms look to the far left for the Bump Board Glossary.  There you will find all the acronyms most commonly used.

  • I guess you can use any old ring, right?  DH and I don't wear wedding rigs.

  • I just did it and after a few minutes of it doing nothing it definitely went back and forth. I was very suprised as I dont believe in these old wives tales lol. and I know I am having a boy.

Chinese gender chart has also worked for all 4 of my babies.
