hand washing in public bathrooms

how do you handle it?? DD can't reach the sink at all and with me being 30 weeks pregnant I can't hold her up and help her wash them. So I've been using sanitizer and making sure we always wash our hands as soon as we get home, but I was wondering if anyone had any solutions I might not have thought of?

Can you sort of lift your knee a bit and use that to boost her bum up high enough?

That's what I did.  Not easy with a belly in the way, but I was able to put her kind of on one side and help with my knee.

  • Stay out of public bathrooms for the next ten weeks?? JK.

Maybe get some papertowels, wet them with soap and water, rub LO's hands with them, and then throw those away, and wet new ones with only water, and "rinse" with them? At least until you are better able to pick her up?

  • If you really can't hold her up, then use baby wipes or wet paper towels to get dirt or other stuff off her hands, and then use the hand sanitizer.
  • I prop DD on my knee with one arm around her. I don't think I'm strong enough to just hold her with my arms anyway.

  • I'd use baby wipes or those handy wipes over sanitizer.  At least then you can rub them well and get the dirt also.
