LOs W/ 1 Nap - When Is Bedtime?

LO is in the 2-to-1 nap transition.  Currently we're doing ~6:30am wake up, ~11am nap (trying to push it later gradually), he sleeps an average of about 1 1/2 hours, and then bedtime is where I'm stumped.

He's ready for bed as early as 5:30pm b/c he's been awake for 5 hours, and that worked for a while and he was still sleeping until 6:30am - I think b/c he needed to catch up on sleep overall.  Then he caught up on sleep and it started causing him to wake up early.  So, I tried 6:30pm and I think that was TOO long of an awake time before bed and he was overtired and had night wakings.  It's tricky!

Can you tell me your LOs one nap wake up, nap and bedtime?

  • LBB usually gets up around 6:30 (although this week he's been sleeping till 7.  Yesterday he slept till 8).

  • It's been 7:30.. it's always been very consistent (his choice) but it's just changed this week.

He was napping anywhere from 12:30-1 to 2-2:30.  Well.. this week he hasn't gone down until 2 and he's napping anywhere between 4 and 5.  bedtime between 8 and 9.

  • Abby gets up between 6:30 and 7am, naps from 12:30-3ish, then bedtime is 7-7:15pm. It was difficult for about a week when we just decided to "make" her do this schedule (getting her down to one nap), but after that, she's totally fine with and can easily last the 6 hours in the morning and then 4ish hours in the evening.

  • He gets up at 7a, nap 11 to , today til 1.45. Then out around 6:30 or 7 these days. I would like to push the nap back a bit but so far it did not work.

  • DD is awake at 6:30, nap anywhere from 10:30- 1:30 which will last about an hour and a half and bedtime at 7-7:30. On weekends when we don't have anywhere to go she will sleep until about 7-7:30am.
  • Usually asleep by 7 - 7:30.

    Awake between 7 and 8

Nap for an hour between 12 and 2

  • We're still trying to figure out the 1 nap thing. Today she was up at 6:45, napped from 9:30-11, napped from 3-4 and went to bed about 7:30, however her normal for the last week has been up at 8, nap around noon for about an hour and a half then back to bed around 8... a couple days she took two naps. Whenever she gets ridiculously cranky we put her to bed, it's hard because our weekly schedule is inconsistent.  Most days she's home with her dad while I work during the day, and then I'm home with her at night while he works, but 2 days a week she's with her grandmother or aunt while we both work.  Because of this her schedule varies and is different from place to place. We just go with the flow, it still works for us so I'm not going to worry too much about it.
