Every night at about 10pm we give my 6 month old a bottle. She drinks varying amounts, anywhere from 2 oz to 6 oz. We've found that if we don't do this, she'll wake at 3am hungry.
I'm fine with this for now, but at some point we'll have to wean her from these night feedings. What should we do that? Now, at 9 months, at 1 year??
At what point can they go 12 hours without eating?
Re: When do you wean from dreamfeeds?
She can't go 12 hours without eating, which is how long she sleeps at night. But if she doesn't mind eating at 10pm, rather than at 3am, then why wouldn't we just feed her at 10pm?? It's better for our family, and believe me, if she didn't want to eat at 10pm, she wouldn't eat. Our pediatrician supports our logic on this.
Weird thing to be judgmental about.
