I am new to this board however not new to parenting. I have a almost 6 yr old DD and a new baby on the way! What are some of the things to watch out for on this board? Do and donts kind of things??

I never posted on that board before so not sure. I have lurked for a little while but it has been a here and there kind of thing. I am only at week 13 for my pregnancy and before I got pregnant I never knew about the bump. Did this site exsist in 06/07? Found out about TB in a google search. I have scanned some of the boards but have not studied them much. Just enough to know the right thing to do is make an Intro and take it slow.

On one hand, I am decidedly pro-newb.

On the other hand, you can't claim to lurk this board and then ask what a twatley is. Especially with all of her PWing shenanigans this week.

I mean, on the board right this minute there are two threads referencing newbs, and they both involve Twatley. If I were a newb, those would have been the first threads I read solely because they have newb in the title.

Also, newb.

Bottom line--I'm not saying that all new posters had better know Twatley OR ELSE, or even that they have to lurk before posting. Just that anyone who *does* lurks this board *should* know Twatley. So to claim otherwise is somewhat questionable.

I appreciate the opportunity to be able to show people I am not nuttso. its okay to be leary about people especially online!! i am not a 50 year old man living in his mothers basement. In fact I have honestly never been in a home that even has a basement. Weird I know! I am leary about people I meet face to face.

Sorry I didnt know who Twatley was but so you know I have gone back and done a bit of looking and I am happy the internet legend who answers all questions introduced herself to me!

I wouldn't say it's an unwritten rule. It's what every newb is told, on every board since I joined 7 years ago. For this particular newb, I'm not crazy about her choice of screen names. It screams shadiness to me. Saying she lurked and not knowing who (or WHAT) Twatley was is pretty suspect as well.

My Screen name is my email and it relates to one of my fave books by S. J Bolton. She is a great author of thriller mystery style novels. I love to read and this book was great! Hope that isnt too shady.
