So, I think night weening is probably the answer the LO's sleeplessness. But - man it is PISSING her off. Any tips? DH has her right now and she is kind of calm for 30 seconds or so and then just angry yelling again. This has been going on for a half hour. I nursed her at 1:30 (it's 4:30 now), so it's not a hunger issue. Thanks!!

Re: Night weening - any tips?
You are sure it isn't hunger? If she is going through a growth spurt it could be...
Eowyn weaned herself completely when she started sleeping in her own bed. Unless she is going through a growth spurt, teething or mama starts working. Then all bets are off.
My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy. Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.
Madison does an angry, screaming nothing will calm her down cry for two reasons: teething, or cold/cough. Last night she had one of those episodes, and she's been fighting a cold for 5 days.
She woke up every night from 6-8 months. I was going crazy and it was really bad when she's teething. One night I decided I had enough, so for a few days I only gave her 2oz to get back to sleep. By the third night I let her CIO. The first night she cried for 20 mins, the second night for 10 mins, and by the third night she STTN. Now she STTN most of the time unless she's teething or sick.
I never, ever thought I would do CIO but it worked for us. Instead of giving her a bottle before bed, I give her oatmeal mixed with yogurt, and that fills her up more then the bottle, so I was confident she wasn't waking up hungry and I wasn't questioning myself as to if I should just give her a bottle and if she was hungry.

My sleepeasy solution suggests you wake her an hour before she'd usually want to eat - feed her the usual amount of min, then the next night, same thing but 2 min less. Repeat til you are out of min .
Sounds simple right? I think they are batty and I haven't done this yet. They say it works though...so if you wanna try...GL!

L used to only wake 1 time per night and then around 7 months when he got sick for like 2 months he was up 2-3 times per night. About a month ago I was tired of getting up that much and decided to night wean. I let him cry it out and to be honest it sucked. I can't do check ins and DH was gone when I did it, so I just let him cry (I could see him on the monitor). The first night he cried 45 minutes, the next 30, and so on. He would still wake occasionally even weeks later and I would just let him cry and usually by 10 minutes he was back asleep and would sleep until 6 AM. At that point I feed him and put him back in his crib for another 2 hours until we get up at 8. Lately, he is teething, so if he gets up anytime after 4 AM I feed him (been 8 hours since he last ate).
We are getting ready to go out of town for 3 weeks and I don't think weaning that last feeding is worth my time since his sleep will most likely be crap while we are gone anyway. I will tackle the last one when we get back
. Good luck!
