Tiny Diner mat doesn't stick :(

We have a Tripp Trapp for K's highchair and I had planned on using the Tiny Diner Placemat on the table to put his food on.  Well, it won't stick to our table, either because it's round or the finish is getting rough.  Any other ideas of something to put on the table to use in place of a high chair tray?

    Is it the one by Kiddapotamus or whatever?  We have that one and I've used it everywhere and never had an issue.  Did you try lightly wetting the suction cups?
