When you conceive your next child, do you plan to:
a.) Have the first letter of the name match DC #1 (ie: Carl and Cindy)?
b.) Have the ending of the name match DC #1 (ie: Jason and Mason)?
c.) Have the exact same syllables as DC #1 (ie: [2] Amy and Laurie)?
d.) Have the names complete opposites from one another.
MY ANSWER- D
We do want a name at the end of the Alphabet though. Something that starts with either R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, or Z.
Re: POLL: Naming your next child
None of the above. People actually do that?
We pick names we like. I don't care about syllables or letters, or matching. People do?
Agreed.... but it might be a little more unique then Rylee...

Oh yeah..all the time. I have 5 friends that are all pg right now, and out of those 5, 3 of them are going to choose one of the above options to be "matchy". That's why I did this poll.
That's crazy.
We have a Josephine, if its a girl next time she'll be Matilda.
A boy? Dean or Kyle.
I agree with you completely!
I'm in no way going to do anything too matchy...besides, if I have a girl, there aren't a lot of Q names to pick from.
It is interesting the lengths some people will go with kids' names. One of DH's cousins has 4 kids. The first two have names that start with a vowel, are 2 syllables, and end in -an, it just kind of happened that way. The 3rd's name started with a consonant, was 2 syllables, had a consonant in the middle, and ended in -er. So when the 4th came along several years later, they would only consider names that matched the parameters of #3's name. It took a while for them to come up with a name.
DH has a long last name so the first name can't have more than 2 syllables.?
Right now for a girl I like Nina. For a boy- I have no idea.?
We like Ryne Joseph for a boy and Isabella Kate for a girl. We don't have any particular reason why... we just like them.
However, we have friends that have 2 boys named: Colton and Cooper. They plan on having 2 more children, so if they are boys, they will have Co names w/ 6 letters. If they have a girl.... Lillian.
Ryne? Can I talk you out of that?
I like Isabella kate.
Apologies to anyone who actually does any of the above, but I think it's ridiculous. A friend from high school named all her kids with Ts. The youngest is Trevor, which she doesn't really like, but it was the only T name they could come close to agreeing on. I said "Why not an M, or a B, or a J?"
"But the others are all Ts."
It's not a law. Pick another letter. I'd rather have my kid go through life with a name I liked than "matching." (She never planed on four, so she didn't have enough T names to go around.)
A boy would be discussed, but we would neither seek out nor avoid Js, or rhymes or two syllable names. His name would be the name that sounded best for him and said something about him to us. A girl? Marianna. Different letter, different end sound, different syllables. Picked because it's pretty, and it's Matt's late mother's name.
DH has cousins who are all "C" names. I can never keep any of them straight. Courtney, Cassidy and Conner. I don't know who's a boy and who's a girl. Ugh.
If we have a boy he is going to be August. A girl name is up in the air. Right now I like Maddeline or Jillian, but we'll see ...
Well, our next child will be called "never gonna happen" as I had a tubal after DD#2, but I'll throw in my .02 anyway
I like names that aren't too common, but I'm more like that with the middle names. DD#1's middle name is Andrea and I haven't seen that as a middle name before. With DS and DD#2 we tried to pick names where they wouldn't be known as the 8th kid in their class with that name. Don't think we succeeded though...DH loved "Cole" for DS and started calling DD#2 "Lexi" before she was born and we were even sure she was a girl!
DD#1~8/17/96------DS~10/24/05
We joke that we will pick a name that starts with a D b/c my name starts with an A, DH is B, and DD is C. But that is a joke.
We will pick a name we like and agree on. My youngest sister got her name in part b/c my mom didn't want another child with a name ending in a 'y'. The 3 older girls are Avery, Aynsley, and Lindsay. My baby sister is Marlaina.?
I taught a kid named Marco Polo a few years ago! (Those were his first and middle name, not his first and last.)?
