Poll: what nursing bra did you get?

So I'm looking everywhere for a nursing bra I like. And I'm not having much luck. Being a 34 DD, I'm used to having something supportive. And I'm also used to underwire which I know is not recommended for nursing bras. But everything I've tried on just doesn't feel supportive at all.

What have you tried? What did you like?

Re: Poll: what nursing bra did you get?

  • I have not gotten anything yet. I am waiting until after I give birth. I know at my hospital a consultant comes around while you are in the hospital and shows you bras...I will probably wait for that.

I will get a few target nursing tanks to hold me over though.

  • I've nursed 2 kids so far. The ONLY bras I like are Bravado. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE my Glamourmom nursing TANKS - I wear those more.

    GL!?

  • Medela ones from the Gap. My sister is using them now and loves them so I am going to order 2 for now.
  • I'm having a hard time finding ones that fit also, so for now I just got two nursing tanks from Target. I'll wait until my milk comes in then probably go out and get some. For now though the tanks do just fine.

I saw some of those tanks in a store. It looked weird to have to guide your breast through a hole to nurse. Also, do they offer good support? I'd love to buy some tanks but want the built-in bra part to hoist me up without the tank being super skin tight.

  • Just got fitted yesterday.  I'm a 36DD right now (used to be a 34C pre preg!) and bought a Bravado lifestyle microfiber bra without underwire.  I'm used to underwire, too, and this is the only nursing bra without wire that I've found that actually supports me.
  • I just got some cheap ones to hold me over until my milk comes in. Our BF instructor said some women double there breast size and all the money they spent on bras went out the window..... But when my milk does come in I will be going with Bravado. I have heard nothing but great things.
  • I have two of the bravado microfiber ones and really like them so far.

You don't have to "guide" your breast through a hole to nurse. It's positioned properly. I LOVE them, especially since I nurse ANYWHERE - they are very discreet. I don't use a "hooter hider" or a nursing cover up. So, when I lift my shirt, no one has to see my back or belly!?

I feel like they offer great support. I'm normally a 34C (pre-PG), not too big and not too small.

I got this one for starters - to get me throught the first week, or at least until I need a more "regular" style nursing bra.  The crossover sleep styles made my boobs sag too bad.  This had nice support and easy access.

  • I second Bravado Bras as being the best ever. I was a 34DD before I was pregnant-- they went up to like G's or F's at the end (depending on the style I bought).  They were very comfortable and offered plenty of support. They do feel a bit different than your underwire bras, but perfect for nursing/handling a nursing pad/ and engorgement.

I had a handful of these bras and wore them constantly--slept in them frequently without another shirt on.  And the best part, they really hold up well to wear and tear.  The ones I currenly have are in great shape--they'd be perfect for a second baby, but I think that they will be too big (my boobs are only a 34 C after nursing for 15 months). I will def. be buying these again.
