Self Care Check-in

Last week's self-care challenge was to exercise 3 times, 30 minutes each, how did you do?

If you didn't exercise (or if you did something on top of exercising), what else did you do for yourself?

This week's challenge: Meditate.  There are a lot of different ways to meditate - prayer, sitting in silence, and yoga are just a few examples.  Try to find a meditation style that works for you.

  • Well, I got my exercise in, but I got in while shopping... so I don't know if you can count it.  I did get an early christmas present - a "new to me" elliptical.  So, I am looking forward to adding that into my daily routine.  I used it last night and couldn't believe how out of shape I've gotten.

    I also made a special christmas present for a friend's child.  I know that doesn't sound a lot like self-care, but I love crafting and I love giving - especially when I know the gift will be well received.

    I am going to try sitting in silence this week.

  • I got one hour long walk in this week and it was with 3 of the 4 kids. It was a nice walk so I can't complain.

    I can meditate, I pray multiple times each day already.
  • I got 3 walks in last week, 1 outside with DS and the dog and 2 on the treadmill. Also, last weekend I flew out of town for a wedding with my mom. It was the first time I spent the weekend away from DS (16 months). It was amazing to give up that responsibility for a weekend. We had a fabulous time!

    Meditation will be hard for me this week because it isn't something I normally do. But I will try.

  • I can't exercise because of my foot, but I did go see a counselor. That ended up being a bust because the place was filthy and not handicap accessible. I found a new place tho.

    Meditating sounds good!

  • Going to have to join this group.  Especially since I have finals this week, I am going to need some meditation time!  I have an extra half hour tomorrow morning I think I may spend it doing this :)

    We pray every night as a family before bed.  The best part of our bed time routine :)
