2+ mom's Chanukkah and Xmas gifts

I didn't buy DS anything for Chanukkah.  We has so much stuff from DD that he doesn't need anything.  My parents and DH's parents got him stuff So I didn't see the need.  Anyone else not get them anything.  I pretty sure he has no clue.

    I'm a FTM but I didn't buy anything either. I bought a new toy to entertain him during dinner last night but no real presents unless you count the convertible car seat he also got this month. He is the first grandbaby and great-grandbaby in quite a while so he already had so much.

    We had intended on going very small with presents for that reason... DD is an only child so far, but has tons of hand-me-down toys from cousins.  We bought her a few wooden puzzles, but when we went to my parents house, she really liked playing with the piano there, so we bought her a wooden toy piano... We definitely would not have spent that money if it wasn't something that will grow with her... she will probably be able to play with this toy until she is school-aged.   Most of the toys geared towards this age group only last for such a short period of time that hand-me-downs are usually in such good shape. Plus there's grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc... so she will end up with more than enough.  We're not planning to overdo holidays anyway... I don't think it makes kids enjoy it more.

    My MIL goes way overboard for Christmas, and we figured there's nothing he needs that he either won't get as a gift or doesn't have as a hand-me-down from DD. We'll get him something next year when he's mroe aware.

    The only reason we got him much at all is because DS1 is old enough to ask why we didn't get his brother something for Christmas or why Santa didn't bring his something. 

     

    We got a few new toys but mostly practical things....bath wash, pacis, a hooded towel, new sippy cups, a few books.
