Hi Ladies,
I'm new to the bump in general, but have been spending most of my time at TTTC. DH and I have been ttc for over a year and a half and had our first IUI this morning. The RE said his sperm count was considered low today, it was 14 million and motility was good, but she didn't really say how that affects our chance of success. I'm wondering if any of you have insight to share about this. Any BFP stories with low sperm count would be great to hear as well!
Thanks for any input!

Re: Low Sperm Count and IUI Success?
Our first iui the sperm count was 147 million and it was a bfn. So you never know what's going to work or not.
Have you done any SAs? Was the count ever low on those? It could just be an off day. 14 mill isn't that low. My DH had as low as less than a mill. His highest ever was 6 mill without medication. Hope it works for you.
Thanks for the well wishes! His first SA was over 100 million, but we didn't have sex for 4 days before the SA. This time we had sex the night of the trigger ,then didn't yesterday, and then IUI today. I'm wondering if we should abstain for longer next month if we have to do another IUI. FX that we won't have to consider that!

Your hubby's SA was a "prewash" value vs IUI count is a post wash count. During the wash they spin out the dead and suboptimal sperms so that the best sperm are used for the IUI. DH's post wash counts were usually only 15-20% of the total prewash count.

Just to give you some hope... I'm currently 4 weeks along after an IUI with a post-wash count of 5 mill and 50% motility.
It can happen.

Baby N conceived after 1 miscarriage and more than 2 years of TTC. Diagnosis was low sperm count. We found success after 3 months of anastrozole to increase DH's testosterone and one IUI.

Thanks! Hopefully I'll be able to be on the Success side of TTTC soon. Trying to stay positive, but I don't want to get my hopes up too much. I know it doesn't often happen with the first IUI.

When I went in 2 days before IUI, I had potentially 3 follies. They measured 14, 20, and 21. They were on both sides. I'm pretty sure I ovulated on the day of the IUI as well because I had a lot of ewcm that day.
