To all the pregnant ladies . . .

Do you ever make yourself a really great mid-morning snack, say, eight or so really wonderful potstickers, get them all organized in your bowl, all your favorite sauce, wander in to the computer, sit down, scroll through a few sites, and then look down . . .

To see

one

lone

bite/piece/potsticker left?

Yeah.  I feel like a two-year-old looking up and saying, "Where they go, Mama?"

"I don't know, Baby, I don't know."

"Things separate from their stories have no meaning. They are only shapes. Of a certain size and color. A certain weight. When their meaning has become lost to us they no longer have even a name. The story on the other hand can never be lost from its place in the world for it is that place.” ― Cormac McCarthy, The Crossing

Re: To all the pregnant ladies . . .

  • Yeah...not pregnant, still do this.

    :D

Actually, I've gotten much better about it but M and I joke about "food blackouts" where you look down and realize you've lost an hour and a whole bag of chips/popcorn/etc.

  • Hahahahah...I am still at the point where food aversions reign supreme, so I have become a 'delicate' eater. Unfortunately most of the things that I don't have an aversion to are starch, meat, oil, salt and sugar, so not great.

Knowing my usual eating style though, I would imagine I'll be following suit once my nausea goes away.

  • Absolutely with you here!  And I really love food, so the disappointment of realizing I've missed the entire snack/meal is truly monumental for me.  It's ridiculous. Big Smile

  •  All.The.Time!

I was eating pop corn last night and seriously looked down and wondered where it went. It felt like I had just sat down with it.  I even asked M if she had eaten some.  She just looked at me and laughed. She said she knows better than to take my food. Embarrassed

The only catch 22 is my stomach is so small now due to the babies shoving it into my throat, a small snack will fill me up quickly.
