Anyone plan on starting (or continuing) a holiday family tradition with LO?
My brother and I always had this Christmas tree advent calendar that my mom would put Hershey kisses in each morning for the month of Dec. I want to do something with DD, but I'm not quite sure what it will be yet. I know that little Elf on the Shelf thing is popular, but it's sort of creepy looking to me. Cute concept though.
Re: Christmas Traditions
We always used to do this, and my parents would always leave a half bitten cookie so we could "see" that Santa ate the cookies. We also put out carrots for the reindeer
We did this too. It's also how I found out Santa wasn't real. I once used a whole bag of carrots for the reindeer, and the next morning they were all back in the crisper. I knew my mom didn't go buy carrots in the middle of the night so she was caught lol.
We leave cookies for Santa and dh makes sure to leave crumbs, we read the night before Christmas right before bed on Christmas Eve.
Every Friday in December we eat in the living room and watch a movie. One night we drive around and look at all the lights, that's the night we drop off the Santa letter our town has a Santa mail box that Santa writes back if you leave a letter
Christmas Eve the boys get new pjs to unwrap and wear to bed at my inlaws after a whole day of fun there.
We have 8 years of traditions and add new every year!
Thank goodness there are others out there that think Elf on the Shelf is creepy and it's not just me.
We basically just run around visiting family during Christmas. Santa used to come to my grandparent's when I was little, but no one has re-upped that tradition yet. This is kind of the first year with a bunch of little ones so we will see if a new tradition is born.
