Babies: 6 - 9 Months

baby food question

So I know that you need to toss formula in the bottle about an hour after LO has started drinking because of the bacteria that starts to form, but do you have to do the same for purees (home made or store bought)?

I have been spooning portions into other bowls, but that creates more dishes (i.e. more clean up/work), so I was just wondering if I could spoon it directly from the container it is in and feed it over several meals.

TIA!

Re: baby food question

  • Yes, you have to do the same for purees. If you spoon directly from the container to baby's mouth, their germs are getting in the jar, and will multiply in the refrigerator. Either use another container, or toss the jar after the feeding.

That's what I though, but wanted to confirm.

Won't be an issue when he starts eating more in one sitting.
