Question about crib soothers

I know this might be a long shot but was wondering if anyone has used these with two babies with cribs near each other.  I was thinking about getting the baby einstein aquarium crib soothers for the boys and was wondering if one remote turns on both at the same time and if that would be an issue?  Also wondering if having two going at the same time creates a lot of distracting (i.e. non-soothing) noise?  Any feedback you have on what worked for you would be awesome!  I am hoping to get something to help with the transition from RnPs to cribs (dreading it!)

Re: Question about crib soothers

  • I don't know the answer to your question.  But, to combat the issue of two going at the same time, I registered for a sound spa that plays lullabuys and displays moons and stars and other stuff on the ceiling.

  • That sounds neat!  We do have a sound machine in their nursery right now but it doesn't seem to do much so I was hoping the visual aspect of the aquariums might help.  Sounds like the projector on yours might be nice!  I've heard really good things about the aquariums with one baby, just not sure about two! :)

I like that idea.  I'm going to start a registry right now and put that on it. :)

  • I have two different crib soothers and DDs still love them!  Now though they use them for lights to read by after I'm mean and turn out the lights. :-)  It can get a little crazy with two different ones going on plus they have a nighttime music CD they listen too, but for some reason, kids don't seem to mind.  I remember when I was little my parents had to wind up my multiple (different) music boxes when I went to sleep and I'm sure that was a racket to adults!

  • Sidney's crib has a tiny love mobile that dd1 used.  Spencer has the blue glow bug firefly thingy.  When she goes to bed and when she goes down after nighttime feedings, I turn on her mobile.  He does not seem to notice.  When he goes down, we press the bugs tummy and it lights up and plays music, she does not seem to notice.  But then again, they can be side by side in car seats, one sleeping and one screaming like a banshee.  I think that twins generally learn to tune out the other one when they need to, maybe???

    Good luck with the transition!

Homedics makes it.  Yeah for starting your registry!  The earlier the better IMO.  I have made so many changes, so you need time to account for that.

This made me smile because I used to read by my nightlight when I was a kid!  Boooo for not listening but yay for good readers!  I'm sure that's true, they sure can tune out a lot of noise!  I went to buy buy baby to look today and wasn't super impressed with the quality for almost $50 : /

  • We have two Baby Einstein aquarium soothers and love them! I just turn the music with lights and motion on one and turn the other one on just lights and motion with no music so that you don't get competing music. The babies LOVE those things. They are completely mesmerized.
