DH and I had a serious talk last night...

...about NOT stealing a pregnant woman's food!  I love my DH and he has been wonderful.  He lets me have my emotional moments and he has been doing a lot more around the house lately since I haven't had the same energy I once had.  I love him so much but there has always been one thing that annoys me..he steals food off my plate.  He usually waits until he thinks I'm done eating and then he helps himself.  I have had to tell him in the past that I'm not always done..I just eat slower than him!

Well, yesterday I got home from work and saw that he had eaten my leftover chicken fingers I had been saving.  I had a pregnant woman moment and got really upset.  When I calmed down I explained that the food thievery has to stop!

Does you H have any annoying habbits that won't fly anymore?

  • We had a similar incident with chicken strips.  I told DH that until further notice he is to assume that all food in the house is mine and I'm going to eat it.

He joked about getting Sharpies and putting names on stuff like you do in an office.  I told him no need, that everything had my name on it.  Big Smile

  • Oh, that is just not cool.

My SO drinks. Every. Flipping. Night. Then his breath smells like booze and I have SUPER smell right now, so it makes me want to hurl. Maybe he needs AA, lol. I bet telling him that would go over really well....

DH said the same thing to me!  He told me I should have put my name on it.  I told him that I done that the previous evening when I ordered them for dinner.  He now knows that certain foods are mine until further notice!

  • I hear you with the alcohol thing. My husband has a beer or two, and maybe a mixed drink most nights. He doesnt get drunk, but he drinks more than any German I was around this week...AA for sure :(

Anyway, yes, with super smeller, I can smell it. He also chews tobacco! SO GROSS! And it stinks SO BAD! He can't smell it, but I can from halfway across the room and I want to puke every time I smell it!!!!! Before I was PG, I actually didnt smell it at all. Now, im so sensitive to it, its crazy!

Other pet peeve: being stuck in an airport for HOURS on end. Soooo boring. Also, I hate it when airports don't have plugs for your electronics, what else am I supposed to do when stuck in your airport for 5 hours?!

  • OP, I think weight be married to the same person. DH and I have had that same discussion at least once a week since we got married. He tells me I'm not a good sharer, I tell him he's just plain rude. It's my food, and I want to eat it!

  • My DH smokes and it never bothered me before getting PG, but now he'll come inside from smoking and he'll try to give me a hug or a kiss and I seriously want to gag. A few times I've told him to go away and brush his teeth and try again.

Pre-pregnancy DH and I would enjoy a beer or two a few days a week.  Since I have been pregnant Dh has only drank maybe 4 evenings (Up to 4 beers).  If it bothers you, you should say something.  I told my H it doesn't bother me if he drinks, but it would bother me if he were drinking most nights.

    About a million.

    1.  Doesn't rinse his dishes

    2.  Leaves his socks EVERYWHERE

    3.  Whines about diaper changes, jammies for DD

    4.  Is overly b*tchy about everything

    5.  Calls laundry "woman's work" -- I think he's kidding but seriously I'm going to go off on him about this.

Honestly, I think I'm just exhausted due to lack of sleep and baby growing, so everything he does annoys me.

    This totally cracked me up!

  • YES! :)

    1.  I get out of the shower this morning to go in the bedroom and it smells like HUGE FART!  I'm like really???  First off I haven't been in the mood lately- and I am right now and you are going to fart right before.  I normaly don't mind the farting (I mean I'm gassy too)  but I can smell things so much better right now and the smell is just awful.  No more farting please.

Of course I've talked to him, but what am I going to do if he chooses to ignore me? There's enough to be stressed out about during pregnancy. Gotta pick my battles.

  • Same here. I got myself juice boxes and some snack packs of cookies for my cravings and he has been eating them!
  • Lol YES! I bought a pack of chewy Reese's chips ahoy because I really wanted cookies, and I haven't bought cookies to keep in the house for years. I have been eating one or two a day, just to get my fix but save the calories and savor them. Yesterday DH was home with sick DD all day and ate THE. ENTIRE. PACKAGE. How do you eat a whole package of chips ahoy in a day?! Especially a PREGNANT WOMAN'S COOKIES with no remorse?!!?

  • Yes, when he stands between me and my precious food... Like when he says "can't you just wait five minutes?". Noooooo, my stomach says NOW!

But otherwise, DH is being an angel.

  • My DH loves pickles and I hate them. They smell REALLY bad to me right now, and I've told him I don't even want them in the house. He's accomodated me thus far on that one... but last night he tried to steal my Reese's peanut butter cups!! I told him to not even think about it. If he does it again I might break his finger.

  • My DH is generally great with house chores or food etc. My biggest "issue" right now is that he still has his teenage sex drive, which at 30 I was hoping would EVENTUALLY slow down, but hasn't. And he gets super grumpy...it's like dealing with a moody teenager. I don't really want to be touched either...so it creates some problems.

He also thinks its funny to pick on me/tease me - and sometimes I can laugh it off but lately I'm so sensitive my feelings get hurt all the time and I just end up yelling at him to stop :/
